Before its release on November 6, 2025, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has announced two new characters players will be able to control: a spirited Korok and a mechanical Construct that fans may recognize. These additions expand the game’s already diverse cast of characters.
Originally revealed in April with the Nintendo Switch 2, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is the latest action game set in the world of The Legend of Zelda. This time, it’s different from the previous two Hyrule Warriors games because it’s officially part of the Zelda story. Players will control Zelda, the Sages, and other strong characters as they battle Ganondorf during the Imprisoning War – a major event from the game’s history.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Reveals a Playable Korok and Mysterious Construct
Nintendo and Koei Tecmo unveiled a new trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment on October 24, 2025. The two-minute trailer quickly explains the game’s story and showcases the large number of playable characters from the Hyrule universe, along with their abilities in battle.
The latest trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment highlighted two interesting new characters: Calamo and the Mysterious Construct. Nintendo says Calamo is a lively Korok traveling Hyrule, looking for a place to settle down. The Mysterious Construct is described as a character who can change form and fly. Because of the character’s vague description and similarity to Link, it seems there’s likely a hidden depth to who they are.
Now that Calamo and the Mysterious Construct are confirmed as playable characters, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has a roster of at least 11 heroes. Here’s who’s currently confirmed to be playable in Age of Imprisonment:
- Zelda
- Rauru
- Sonia
- Mineru
- Agraston (Sage of Fire)
- Ardi (Sage of Lightning)
- Qia (Sage of Water)
- Raphica (Sage of Wind)
- Lenalia (Zelda’s maid)
- Calamo
- Mysterious Construct
We’ve seen glimpses of other characters in past Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment trailers, but it’s unknown if we’ll actually be able to play as them. The newest trailer features a Zora warrior fighting with Qia, but it’s not yet clear if players will be able to control this Zora warrior, or if they’ll simply be a computer-controlled ally to the Sage of Water.
