Hytale All Crystal Shard Locations

In Hytale, Crystal Shards are important materials used to craft many items. You get them by mining special crystal deposits with a pickaxe, much like mining ores. Because these crystals only appear in specific areas, finding them requires knowing the right places to search.

There are seven types of colored Crystal Shards in Hytale. Here are their locations.

Cyan Crystal Shards

You can find Cyan Crystals in two places within the Emerald Grove (Zone 1): underwater in the Azure Forests, near the blue kelp, and in the underground caves growing close to Blue Nettle. The Azure Forests are easily recognizable by their distinctive blue, spiral-shaped trees, which also provide Azure Logs when harvested.

Green Crystal Shards

You can find Green Crystals in the Devastated Lands (Zone 4), which is located in the Cinder Wastes. Look for areas on the map that appear sickly green and have small ponds. You can also get them by defeating enemies like Earth Golems and Skeleton Archmages.

Purple Crystal Shards

In Hytale, you can find Purple Crystal deep inside Scarak Hive nests located in the Howling Sands (Zone 2). These nests are scattered throughout the desert, but the most visible ones are those that have surfaced above ground, making them easier to locate.

The Desolate Basin is a muddy area filled with animal bones. Keep an eye out for strange, tall dirt pillars guarded by flying, bee-like creatures called Scarak Seekers – these mark the entrances to Scarak nests. Deep inside each nest, you’ll find the Broodmother’s chamber, which is also where you’ll find the largest concentration of purple crystal shards.

Bring along plenty of healing potions if you’re thinking about venturing into a Scarak nest.

Purple Crystal can also be found growing on the ceilings and pillars of the Underground Jungle area within the Devastated Lands (Zone 4).

Red Crystal Shards

You can find a lot of Red Crystal Shards in the Devastated Lands (Zone 4), both above ground and in the Underground Jungle. On the surface, look for big groups of them around lava pools, and you’ll also find them spread throughout the Charred Woodlands, though not as densely packed. They often grow near Red Featherleaf, a glowing red grass that makes them easy to see. Underground, you’ll find large amounts of these shards attached to the ceilings of the Jungle biome.

Blue Crystal Shards

Okay, so if you’re looking for Blue Crystals in Whisperfrost Frontiers (Zone 3), you’re in luck! The best place to farm them is definitely under the broken glaciers – there are tons! You can find some in regular caves too, like stuck to walls, under ice, or even underwater, but honestly, it’s not even close to the amount you’ll get from the glacier areas. Focus on the glaciers if you really need a lot of them.

You can also find Blue Crystal in the Underground Jungles within the Devastated Lands (Zone 4). These crystals are usually located on rooftops, which can make them a little difficult to reach.

Yellow Crystal Shards

You can find Yellow Shards in the caves of Howling Sands (Zone 2), usually near Yellow Orchids. They often grow in small groups of 2 or 3. Another good place to look is in the Underground Jungle of the Devastated Lands (Zone 4), where they grow along the ceiling.

White Crystal Shards

White Crystal Shards only grow near Diamonds in the game Hytale. Diamonds themselves are very rare and can be found in any area and at any depth, making the shards equally hard to come by.

Pink Crystals can be found in the Devastated Lands – Underground Jungle, but they don’t currently give you any Pink Crystal Shards when you mine them.
