Riot Games canceled Hytale, but the game’s original creators have now bought it back. The purchase happened earlier this month, and players likely won’t have to wait long before they can start playing.

Hytale Early Access Announcement Next Week
Simon Collins-Laflamme, the founder of Hypixel Studios, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that they will share the release date for Hytale’s early access version before the end of next week. This continues a series of recent updates about the game.
Next week will be packed with updates on Hytale. The developers will be testing the game on various computers to figure out the minimum requirements for it to run smoothly. They’ll also be fixing major bugs, testing the game launcher, and completing the final legal steps to get ready for early access.
The announcement says they’ll share the exact date for the early access release next week. They clarified this date won’t be for the complete game.
There’s a lot of excitement surrounding Hytale, and the recent 16-minute gameplay video quickly gained over a million views. After a long wait, players will soon be able to play the game themselves.
Hytale’s development started in 2015. In 2020, Riot Games bought the studio behind the game, Hypixel Studios, but recently cancelled the project. Fortunately, the original developers have stepped in to continue work on Hytale, and players will be actively involved in the process going forward.
