Hytale Is Back After Being Reacquired By Hypixel Studios

I was so excited to hear that Hypixel Studios has brought Hytale back! Apparently, Simon Collins-Laflamme, the founder, announced they’ve officially gotten the rights to the game back from Riot Games. It’s awesome to see this old favorite coming home!

The news comes roughly five months since it was announced that the game was being shut down.

We’re excited to share that we’ve acquired Hytale from Riot Games. Riot decided it wasn’t the right fit for their current projects, but they wanted to ensure the game continued for its players. We’re thankful to Riot for making this happen, and we plan to eventually release an updated version of the game.

According to Collins-Laflamme, the studio has brought on over 30 developers who are very familiar with the game, and even more are expected to join soon.

He explained that the team is returning to the initial vision for Hytale. He also confirmed the studio is fully independent and plans to fund the game’s development for the next decade.

We’ll be announcing the release date and price for Early Access very soon. It will launch first on Windows, with plans to bring it to Mac and Linux later, and other platforms after that. The Early Access version of Hytale will feature Creative Mode, Exploration Mode, and the ability to create mods. Minigames and Adventure Mode won’t be included in the initial release, but we’ll add them in future updates.
