Marble is a stone block used in the game Hytale to craft Light Temple blocks. It’s one of the most attractive building materials available, and many players choose it when they need white-colored blocks.
Marble is a fairly common material in Hytale, but it can be surprisingly hard to find. It only appears in large amounts in one particular type of area. This guide will show you exactly where to find Marble and how to turn it into building blocks you can use. Here’s everything you need to know.
How to Get Marble in Hytale
Marble Location
You can find marble in Hytale by mining it from quarries in the Emerald Grove (Zone 1). These quarries are easy to spot – look for areas with large, white stone pillars made of marble and chalk, particularly in the mountainous and rocky parts of the Seedling Woods biome. Gray rocks and mountains are good indicators that you’re in the right place.
Marble and chalk are easily mistaken for each other because they look alike and are often found in the same places. However, marble tends to be a bit darker and has more noticeable patterns, while chalk is usually a brighter white with softer, less defined markings. The image shows a clear comparison of their textures.
How to Convert Marble Cobble into Marble
Mining marble quarries gives you Marble Cobble, which is a raw form of marble. You can refine Marble Cobble into pure Marble in two different ways:
- Using a Furnace
- Using a Builder’s Workbench
Using a Furnace
To get Marble, place Marble Cobble in the top slot of a Furnace, add fuel, and turn it on. You’ll get 1 Marble for every 2 Marble Cobble you use.

Using a Builder’s Workbench
Okay, so I opened up the Builder’s Workbench and grabbed the Marble Cobble, dragging it into the Input area. It was cool to see that it actually created two different options under Input! There was the Marble Cobble itself, and then just a regular Marble block too. Pretty neat!
Okay, so I figured out this cool trick! If you click on the Marble block – the one at the very top of your screen – it automatically turns all your Marble Cobble into regular Marble. Then, you can use that Marble to build stuff, or just drag it into your inventory if you want to collect the pure Marble. And get this – you can do it the other way around too!

Currently in Hytale, you can use either Marble Cobble or regular Marble at the Builder’s Workbench and get the same result. This behavior may be different in future updates.
How to Fix Cracked Marble Bricks in Hytale
When building with Marble Bricks, you might see cracks appear within the bricks themselves. This is intentional! The design includes natural-looking cracks that show up as you place the bricks next to each other, and it’s a feature that can’t be turned off.
If you want Marble walls and pillars that won’t crack, use “Marble Brick – Smooth” instead of regular “Marble Brick.” Unlike the standard version, smooth marble bricks won’t break, even when built in large quantities.
