Hytale developers are adding two new social features to the game: nearby voice chat and a way for friends to easily join your single-player world without complicated setup. This ‘portal’ feature will let friends drop in and play with you seamlessly.
Since the original creators bought back Hytale from Riot Games, we’ve been getting a lot of updates quickly. Last week, they announced how much the game will cost, and they’ll be sharing details about when players can get early access very soon.

Proximity Chat & Multiplayer Support in Single-Player Coming to Hytale
During a detailed conversation with YouTuber ElRichMC, Simon Collins-Laflamme, the founder of Hypixel Studios, discussed the progress of Hytale and future plans. He also announced that the team is currently working on two new features.
The game will let friends easily join and leave single-player games for cooperative play. To make it feel more natural, players will need to craft a special item first to unlock this feature.
Collins-Laflamme explained they want to make the game more social by having players create a portal to invite friends. This portal would also serve as their friends’ exit when they leave the game, adding to the immersive experience.
Although it might not sound like much, this feature is important because some other well-known games lack it. The key benefit is being able to invite friends to play without having to adjust your firewall settings.
I’m really excited to hear they’re definitely working on proximity chat for the game – that’s going to be awesome with the multiplayer! The developer, Collins-Laflamme, did say he’s not completely sure if it’ll be ready for when the early access version comes out, but I’m still hopeful!
Voice chat is a key feature for Hytale, allowing for a wider range of experiences, especially with the game’s strong modding capabilities.
