If you’re a frequent user of social media platforms, you may have stumbled upon discussions about whether or not Elon Musk‘s gaming accomplishments are authentic. In the past few weeks, it seems that statements from the mysterious and unconventional billionaire emerged, implying that he ranks among the top players in two different games. Interestingly, it appears that he has data to support these claims.
Initially, his daring assertions caught the notice of content creators who were well-versed in the games he enjoyed. Soon, inconsistencies in his narrative became apparent. During a subsequent discussion with YouTuber NikoWrex, Elon Musk confessed that he had resorted to cheating in both games to achieve his current status.
Dishonest Conduct
It’s common knowledge that Elon Musk is quite fond of video games. During the summer of 2023, Musk engaged in a live conversation on Twitter (which was still known as Twitter at that time), sharing his passion for Diablo 4 which had been recently launched.
A few months down the line, he found himself among the swiftly rising stars of streaming platforms, captivating over 1.3 million viewers simultaneously with his live Diablo 4 gameplay. This single achievement placed him in the annals of streaming history as one of the most-viewed streamers ever.
Lately, Musk’s gaming prowess has been quite open, and just recently, discussions about him ranking among the top 20 players in Diablo 4 resurfaced. However, he was soon scrutinized and criticized by streamers such as Asmongold, leading to a heated exchange on social media between them, with Asmongold engaging in a spat with the tech magnate who is also a close associate of President Trump.
Through a sequence of direct messages between Elon Musk and NikoWrex, it’s now clear that Elon Musk had been unfaithful in their interactions over time.
How Was Elon Musk Cheating?
Online, a series of images have been shared that appear to display the entirety of Elon Musk’s conversation with NikoWrex (courtesy of TweakTown). In these images, Musk seems to acknowledge that it is extremely challenging to compete against Asian players if you don’t share your account with multiple users.
Sharing accounts in various online games is forbidden under their terms of service and can be considered ethically questionable. In essence, this means you give your account information to other players so they can use it when you’re not available – perhaps when you’re busy, asleep, or working.
Musk said:
Winning a leveling race on high-tier accounts for games like Diablo or Path of Exile typically necessitates collaboration from several players due to its complexity and demanding requirements.
Musk does insist that he’s still a cracked gamer, though:
Regardless of the approach taken, completing the toughest level in Diablo under 2 minutes is exceptionally swift. Here’s my run, which you can find at X, was remarkably error-free.
Following the discourse, Elon Musk’s ex-wife took to social media to defend him, explaining:
For my own satisfaction, I’d like to share that the man who is the father of my children was the initial American Druid in Diablo to conquer the Abattoir of Zarathum and concluded that season as the top player in the U.S.A.
Not only was he a top player in Polytopia, but I personally saw him defeat Felix in the game. Other people were there as well to confirm this. And that’s it.
Regardless of your opinion on his gaming skills in Diablo 4 or Path of Exile, it’s evident that Elon Musk is an adept video game player.
