As an onlooker, I’ve witnessed a whirlwind in the manga world with none other than “Ichi the Witch.” Initially, it was hard to foresee such a spectacular performance from this title. Remarkably, it garnered praise even from giants like Horikoshi Kohei and Tatsuki Fujimoto, two titans in the manga industry.

Ichi the Witch Volume 2 Release Date Has Been Confirmed

  • Volume 2 release date has been confirmed
  • The manga is also entering a new arc

Shortly after that, Ichi the Sorceress unveiled the cover art for the upcoming second volume, showcasing Desscaras. This second installment of the manga is set to hit shelves on March 4, 2025.

Readers who are in the know about Ichi the Witch can anticipate the commencement of a new storyline. To heighten excitement for this upcoming chapter, Shonen Jump has opted to feature Ichi the Witch on the cover and lead color page in the issue dated 15/2025. This move demonstrates that Weekly Shonen Jump recognizes Ichi the Witch’s potential and is making a concerted effort to attract more readers to it.

Weekly Shonen Jump Is Doing Its Best To Promote Ichi the Witch

In the upcoming issue 15/2025 of Weekly Shonen Jump, you’ll find that the chapter will include a total of five color pages. This deliberate choice underscores their commitment to efficiency and capitalizing on the current wave of success they are experiencing.

In an interview with Shonen Jump+, the creators of Ichi the Witch, Osamu Nishi and Shiro Usazaki, were queried about various topics. One of the questions was about their favorite characters. During the conversation, Osamu Nishi expressed his fondness for Desscaras due to her unforeseeable nature. Similarly, Shiro Usazaki shared her preference for Shirabedonna, appreciating her unique character design as well.

No other characters feel as “alive” as she does—always acting unpredictably and freely. I enjoy writing for her because she’s almost always up to something strange when she’s on the page. I’m sure she’s doing something bizarre even as we speak. —Osamu Nishi

In addition to his remarks, Osamu Nishi shared the sources of his motivation behind Ichi the Witch. He revealed that Pokemon and Cardcaptor Sakura served as his inspirations, incorporating aspects from both franchises into the creation of the series.

It hasn’t been revealed if “Ichi the Witch” will be turned into an anime, but given that only around 40 chapters have been published so far, this delay seems reasonable. Yet, it probably won’t be much longer until we hear some news about the adaptation.

Ichi the Witch is available to read on the Manga Plus app.
