Indiana Jones Developers “Thrilled” Game Is Coming To PS5

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I’ve seen exclusivity deals come and go. But the news that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is making its way to PlayStation 5 has me positively ecstatic!

During Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20th, one of the major revelations was the news that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set for release on PlayStation 5 (PS5). Recently, in an interview with Eurogamer, the creative director of Indiana Jones, Axel Torvenius, and design director Jens Andersson discussed their plans to bring the game to PS5 and shared their views on this transition.

Instead of delving into the specifics about why the game is coming to PS5 following its exclusive run on Xbox, they instead emphasized their enthusiasm over the fact that this transition is taking place at all.

What The Studio Thinks Of Indiana Jones On PS5

MachineGames are equally ecstatic and eager to announce that they will be available on PlayStation platforms next year too, according to Torvenius. The more players who get to experience the game, appreciate the effort and dedication poured into it, and witness the hard work, the better.

Andersson mentioned that this was something the studio had planned to achieve right from the beginning. Additionally, he explained that the additional time following the game’s release in December provides them with extra preparation time to optimize it for the PlayStation 5. However, he emphasized that the technology utilized during development is capable of supporting multiple platforms.

He added, “It’s worth noting that our technology is built upon a modified version of id Tech. While it was originally designed for multiple platforms, we’ve made modifications to it, giving us a solid foundation to work with.”

Indy’s newest adventure, titled “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,” is set to debut on December 9, 2021, for both Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms. However, it appears that PlayStation 5 users will have to wait until April 2025 to join in on the action.
