After much anticipation sparked by the uproar over Version 1.5, Infinity Nikki has addressed fan concerns and even offered amends for the numerous gameplay glitches. This popular title, which skyrocketed in December 2024 to become the sixth highest-grossing gacha game on mobile devices worldwide, brought significant profits for developer Infold, thanks to its massive fanbase and newcomers eagerly jumping aboard the PC platform.
During March and April 2025, the game experienced a quieter period due to the developers’ intense focus on Version 1.5, which was anticipated as the most significant update for Infinity Nikki. Regrettably, upon its release, Version 1.5 faced strong criticism from the Infinity Nikki community. Among the main grievances, players pointed out an incomplete zone, a misleading dye system, game-halting bugs, vanishing currency, and the elimination of the much-loved intro for Infinity Nikki.
The unexpected decline in quality led to the rough start of Infinity Nikki‘s Steam release, earning it mainly negative ratings. This was a stark contrast from a game that initially had excellent buzz among gamers. Many fans found Infold’s silence disappointing and started a “girlcott” movement, asking for significant improvements to Infinity Nikki, or better yet, a return to its original state. On April 17, 2025, Infold addressed the players, expressing regret over the troublesome launch of Version 1.5 and offering compensation: up to 960 Diamonds for every Infinity Nikki account.
Infinity Nikki Delays Version 1.6, Gives Free Diamonds as Compensation
Because Version 1.5 of Infinity Nikki has been facing intricate technical challenges, Infold has chosen to postpone the release of Version 1.6 until June 12, 2025. This move provides the development team with additional time to resolve existing issues in the game, as well as preventing potential new problems from arising in Version 1.6. As a token of appreciation for the delay, players will receive 360 Starlit Crystals as compensation. Furthermore, from June 5, 2025, to June 12, 2025, players can collect 120 Diamonds and an Energy Crystal every day.
The apology additionally discussed the Threads of Reunion, the well-known dress that Nikki wore in the initial game tutorial. Although Infold neither admitted nor denied reintroducing the old opening scene, it did hint that the current Sea of Stars prologue was hastily produced for Version 1.5 instead of being organically incorporated into the storyline. Significant modifications for Infinity Nikki necessitate longer development periods, and Infold is not yet prepared to disclose details about them.
To clarify, Infinity Nikki’s developer, Infold, has launched an in-game communication platform for players to share their thoughts through their Pear-Pal characters. With the upcoming release of new 4-Star Banner Outfits, fans have been less than thrilled by the timing. It seems that the boycott may persist, affecting both the Chinese and international gaming communities. However, Infold has made an initial effort to address these concerns.
