Summary
- Undisputed fans criticize Steel City Interactive over the game’s newest DLC pack.
- The Iron and Steel fighter pack includes seven new fighters and new cosmetic items for $20.
- Players believe the DLC is “insulting” as the communication between the studio and fans regarding new fixes has been “radio silent for months.”
Unquestionable fans are criticizing game developer Steel City Interactive heavily for releasing another paid expansion pack, despite having been mostly absent this year when the game needed numerous fixes and enhancements. The recently launched DLC, referred to as the Iron and Steel Pack, introduces additional legendary fighters into the fray, including the Klitschko brothers, Shannon Briggs, Butterbean, Jai Opetaia, and others.
Following a major upgrade in December 2024, Steel City Interactive was mostly quiet about upcoming updates until February 2025, when they officially announced that the next Undisputed update would be released within an April timeframe. This news sparked discontent among fans, as many game-related glitches and issues needed immediate resolution before April. Issues ranging from punch accuracy to scorecard bugs have been a source of frustration for players since the game’s debut in October 2024. Despite the latest update now being available, fans continue to express disappointment with the changes implemented.
Undisputed Fans Blast Iron and Steel DLC
Yesterday, Steel City Interactive dropped an update for my favorite game, Undisputed. Alongside that, they launched a new DLC pack called Iron and Steel, which includes seven fresh fighters like Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali Klitschko, Shannon Briggs, Butterbean, and more. There are also some snazzy in-game cosmetic items for certain characters. However, the gaming community isn’t too thrilled about it, as they’re calling it everything from “insulting” to a “joke.” Many Reddit users have criticized the price of this DLC pack, with gamers like InTupacWeTrust labeling it as “crazy,” and Matt9257 saying he won’t pay such “ridiculous prices.
Fans have expressed dissatisfaction beyond just the cost aspect. They’re disheartened that Steel City persists in releasing new paid fighter packs rather than providing regular gameplay improvements since the game’s debut in October. The major updates have been few, with only two significant ones and some minor tweaks in between. The latest update, dubbed Undisputed, was rolled out on April 2, making “minor adjustments” to punch targeting and tracking, as well as rebalancing block health. This update received harsh criticism and was labeled as the “barest minimum,” with many fans still voicing concerns about the game’s punch tracking. However, it’s encouraging to know that Steel City is working on a more substantial solution for punch tracking that will be implemented in a future release.
It’s great news that the latest update has addressed one of Undisputed‘s long-standing issues, particularly the problem of the eighth round being incorrectly scored in online fights. As per the official release notes, such scoring errors should no longer occur. The update also tackles other problems like resolving disconnects that may not accurately reflect players’ win/loss records. Nevertheless, some users have reported persisting issues with this.
