As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the recent announcement by Intel about their first Battlemage graphics cards has piqued my interest significantly. Having grown up with Intel processors and seeing them dominate the CPU market for so long, it’s exciting to see them finally entering the GPU arena.
Following several weeks of speculation and sneak peeks, Intel has finally revealed its inaugural Battlemage series graphics cards. Starting this month, two new GPUs, specifically the Intel Arc B580 and the Arc B570, will be released. These models are constructed using the Xe2-HPG architecture.
As an enthusiast, I find that these latest graphics cards cater more towards budget-friendly segments, rather than the high-performance offerings from AMD and Nvidia.
On December 13, the Arc B580 graphics card will debut at a price point of $249. This card boasts 20 Xe2 cores, 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM with a 192-bit memory interface. Its clock speed is initially set at approximately 2.67 GHz, slightly lower than the previously speculated 2.8 GHz from earlier whispers. However, the clock speed may potentially increase based on which manufacturer you choose to purchase the graphics card from. Additionally, it’s designed to consume a Total Board Power of only 190W.
The Intel Arc B570, a slightly less expensive option, is priced at $219 and will be available from January 16. This graphics card features a clock speed of 2.5 GHz, along with 10 GB of GDDR6 memory. It operates on a narrower 160-bit memory bus, boasting a maximum bandwidth of 380 GB/s. Its TBP (Typical Board Power) is also reduced to 150W.
Both cards are PCIe 4.0×8, and come with three DisplayPort 2.1 outputs and one HDMI 2.1 output.
