Intergalactic Should Have a Feature That The Last of Us 2 Took Years to Add

Intergalactic: The Rebel Prophet” is an innovative new intellectual property (IP) from Naughty Dog, marking their first original franchise since the debut of “The Last of Us“. Last year’s Game Awards brought a host of thrilling announcements, but “Intergalactic” undeniably stood out as one of the most surprising. Although anticipation for a possible “Last of Us Part 3” might have faded since this announcement, “Intergalactic” appears to be shaping up as an engaging narrative.

Currently, Naughty Dog is keeping most information about the game “Intergalactic” secret. Not only does this game seem to deviate from the norm by exploring sci-fi themes, but there also appears to be a strong focus on melee combat rather than gunplay. The release of “Intergalactic” may still be some time away, but when it eventually launches, it might include a popular mode from “The Last of Us Part 2” called No Return on the day one release.

The Last of Us Part 2’s No Return Mode Should Be a New Standard For Future Naughty Dog Games

An Action-Packed Roguelike Experience

  • No Return was introduced in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.
  • This remastered version of the game was released back in early 2024.

In a fresh twist, “No Return” added pulse-pounding action and nail-biting confrontations to “The Last of Us Part 2“. This roguelike feature has provided an unanticipated method for extending the playtime of “Part 2“, as it remains a popular diversion for many fans of the series. However, one of the most surprising aspects about “No Return” is that it took almost four years for this mode to be introduced.

Season 2 of HBO’s The Last of Us series premieres on April 13.

What Does No Return Offer?

  • Players can choose a variety of characters to play besides Ellie, Joel, and Abby. Some of these characters include Dina, Jesse, and Tommy.
  • Four different game modes: Assault, Hunted, Capture, and Holdout.
  • Completing challenges awards players with special skins for characters.

Intergalactic Seems Perfect For a No Return Mode

In a science fiction landscape, “No Return” looks promising, yet “Intergalactic” boasts an even stronger edge over “The Last of Us Part 2,” particularly in combat variety. In the “Last of Us” universe, the gameplay needs to maintain realism to suit its world. While Naughty Dog excels at making this realistic aspect engaging, “Intergalactic” allows the developers to experiment with more fantastical combat elements.

As I eagerly anticipate the latest offering from Intergalactic, the tantalizing glimpse of a laser sword among other advanced melee weapons and firearms in their teaser has me thrilled about the possibility of a No Return mode. Although Naughty Dog hasn’t confirmed whether this mode will be integrated into their action-adventure title or not, it’s hard to imagine them leaving out such an exciting feature at this stage.

The main character in “Intergalactic,” named Jordan, is portrayed by actress Tati Gabrielle. In addition, she assumes the role of Nora during season 2 of the live-action series.

Construction for No Return is now complete, making its integration into Intergalactic theoretically straightforward. The enigmatic allure of Intergalactic only adds to its appeal, and the diverse, unknown world of Sempiria could provide an array of exciting settings to transform into No Return stages.

The Wait For Intergalactic May Be a Grueling One

  • Rumors claim Intergalactic may not arrive until 2027.

Based on information from well-known source Jason Schreier, it’s possible that the game “Intergalactic” might not arrive until two years from now at the earliest. However, there’s also a chance that the wait could be even longer. It’s important to keep this in perspective, but if the timeline is indeed that long, we can’t predict exactly when “Intergalactic” will be available. As time goes by, more details about the game will surface, and hopefully, a fresh take on “No Return” will be included in the final product.
