Hearthstone has unveiled its first expansion for the Year of the Raptor, titled “Into the Emerald Dream”. This new set introduces the Imbue and Dark Gifts abilities, colossal Wild God Legendary minions, and much more, to be rolled out in Hearthstone on March 25.

As a dedicated Hearthstone player, I’m thrilled about the announcements for the Year of the Raptor. There’s a major overhaul coming to Arena, an exciting new Pets feature, and a boost for its esports scene. We’re looking at three expansions too: “Into the Emerald Dream”, “The Shrouded City”, and “The Heroes of Time”. Can’t wait to dive in!

Currently, Hearthstone has unveiled the initial expansion of the new card sets, titled Into the Emerald Dream. This otherworldly expansion revolves around the struggle between Ysera, guardian of the renowned Emerald Dream from World of Warcraft, and the malevolent forces of the Old Gods’ Nightmare. Comprising 145 cards, this set allows Druids, Hunters, Mages, Paladins, Priests, and Shamans to harness the power of the Dream by means of Imbue, a novel keyword that transforms and amplifies their Hero Power. In contrast, the Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Rogue, Warlock, and Warrior classes have aligned with the Nightmare, enabling them to utilize Dark Gifts – 10 unique effects that are randomly coupled with Discovered minions. Furthermore, each class is also receiving a Choose One card – a keyword previously exclusive to Druids.

In Hearthstone, each class has its unique Legendary Wild God minion. For instance, Aviana, Elune’s Chosen (belonging to the Priest class) is a champion of the Emerald Dream, whereas Ursoc (Death Knight’s card) has been tainted by the Nightmare. Apart from this series of Wild Gods, players will encounter other Legendary minions like Malorne the Waywatcher (neutral) and Naralex, Herald of the Flights, as well as class-specific cards such as Merithra, the new Green Aspect from World of Warcraft, which enhances Shamans in Hearthstone with a potent resurrection effect. The remainder of the expansion will be unveiled over the next month, culminating in the release of Into the Emerald Dream on March 25.

Players have the opportunity to gather some cards from the set ahead of time. At present, every player who logs into Hearthstone receives Ysera, Emerald Aspect – a neutral Legendary minion that increases both players’ maximum mana when included in a deck – and can obtain two free copies of the Creature of Madness common minion from the shop. Furthermore, from March 4 until the expansion’s release, fans can collect the Raptor Herald card through the Release the Raptor in-game event.
