InZOI Sleepwalking Disaster: Zois Gone Rogue

Summary

  • InZOI drew high interest & sales upon release, but player numbers dipped; on track for full release content.
  • Sleepwalking mechanic in InZOI leads to unexpected and humorous outcomes like booking expensive vacations.

A player’s recent gameplay in InZOI revealed an unexpected expense due to their character, Zoi, unintentionally going on an expensive, spontaneous trip because of her sleepwalking trait. As gamers continue to delve into the early access content of InZOI, the sleepwalking feature has been causing a hilariously frustrating experience for some players.

On March 27, 2025, the preliminary version of InZOI was launched, sparking immense curiosity among fans of life simulator games. The game reached a staggering peak of over 87,000 simultaneous players and sold more than a million copies within its first week. While the player count has decreased since its launch, developers have numerous new content lined up leading to the final release, causing many to view Krafton’s life simulator as a potential challenger to The Sims 4’s ten-year dominance of the genre.

Many gamers who temporarily halted playing InZOI expressed feeling they’ve explored all the early access content, yet one element they might not have encountered much is sleepwalking. A gamer known as abidoang on Reddit shared an interesting incident where their character became restless and, unexpectedly, the Zoi character autonomously navigated to the computer and reserved a full-day trip on a lavish yacht. Although each Zoi in InZOI possesses unique values, traits, and aspirations that influence their actions, the sleepwalking feature is introducing a good deal of unpredictability into players’ gameplay, thus helping them discover more about the game.

InZOI Player’s Zoi Books a Luxury Yacht Trip in their Sleep

As a dedicated fan of InZOI, I must express my disappointment that, out of the three cities currently available and the additional five on the horizon, not a single one offers a yacht for players to explore or engage with. This lack in the early access phase has led me to imagine my character, the Zoi, hailing a taxi cab and vanishing for an entire day, leaving me yearning for control. It seems I’m not alone, as other players have also shared similar experiences, lamenting that these unexpected trips caused their Zois to miss work. Remarkably, some players even suggested that the Zoi characters exhibit sleepwalking tendencies and generosity, racking up debt by donating more money than they possess.

It appears that instances of sleepwalking are tied to the frequency of Zois’ dreams, but strange actions within the game can be traced back directly to the players themselves. There have been accounts of players abducting children in the game InZOI, then running them over with vehicles. Remarkably, these players have found ways to exploit the system and commit serious crimes without any in-game repercussions.
