When is Tarkov Coming to Steam?
While the exact release date on Steam for Escape from Tarkov hasn’t been announced yet, it is expected to arrive on the platform. This expectation stems from a commitment made by Battlestate Games during a live stream in April 2024, confirming that Escape from Tarkov would be available on Steam after its 1.0 launch.
As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share that the long-awaited 1.0 release for Escape from Tarkov is set for November 15, 2025! This means we might just be looking at a Steam launch within those following months, possibly even before Summer 2026. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
Why Has Tarkov Never Been on Steam?
In 2025, the standalone multiplayer shooting game, Escape from Tarkov: Arena, was launched on the Epic Game Store. This marked the initial appearance of an Escape from Tarkov product on a platform other than its own launcher or marketplace. Yet, this move paved the way for significant changes in the world’s most popular extraction shooter.
One possible explanation for Battlestate Games not launching Escape from Tarkov on Steam is that they prefer to retain all the revenue generated from the game sales, rather than sharing it with Valve who takes a cut from games sold through their platform.
Alternatively, it might be due to Steam’s generous return policy, under which users can request a refund even if they’ve played a game for fewer than two hours, regardless of the reason.
Despite any potential reasons, it seems that the issue has been addressed since Battlestate Games hinted at a new Escape From Tarkov release on Steam in August 2025.
