This article contains spoilers for One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
Summary
- Kid used to be a contender for Pirate King, but Shanks may have put an end to his journey.
- Elbaf arc could be where Kid returns to get revenge on Shanks and further his rivalry with Luffy.
- Although Kid’s fate is uncertain, if he is alive, Elbaf may be the perfect arc for his return.
Since his introduction at the Sabaody Archipelago, the character has played a significant role in the narrative of One Piece. Being part of the Worst Generation, he stands as a contrast to Luffy, embodying notions of brutality and strength while sharing similar objectives. In the Wano Arc of One Piece, his presence and intriguing dynamic with Luffy have fueled anticipation among fans, who believe that this pirate will play a crucial part in the upcoming Final Saga of One Piece.
It’s common knowledge among fans that Kid’s current situation remains uncertain, leaving us guessing whether or not the character is still alive. Regardless, if Kid survives, the ongoing Elbaf arc could provide the ideal setting for his comeback. Should Kid reappear in the storyline, some enthusiasts anticipate it happening soon.
Kid Used To Be A Contender For The Role Of Pirate King In One Piece
Shanks Put A Potential End To His Journey
In the course of the tale, Kid, who often faced underestimation from spectators, consistently proved himself as a serious competitor in the quest for the elusive “One Piece”. With Law by his side, Kid managed to vanquish the formidable Emperor Big Mom and acquired two of the mysterious Poneglyphs associated with “One Piece”. As a result, Kid was nearly on par with Luffy in terms of progress. However, due to his impulsive nature, Kid opted to engage in a battle with Shanks, someone who was clearly beyond his current capabilities.
Throughout our adventure thus far, there have always been those who scoffed and made light of our quest for the legendary One Piece. But every single instance of their derision only fueled my determination to prove them wrong. Each time they underestimated us, I took up arms and showed them the consequences of mocking our dreams.
Following the occurrences in Wano, Law, Kid, and Luffy each ventured off on their individual paths across the New World. However, for Kid – either luckily or unluckily depending on his perspective – his journey took a turn that brought him face-to-face with another One Piece Yonko, Shanks. This encounter presented him with an opportunity to confront the person he despises the most. Regrettably, Kid met a devastating end at the hands of a single Divine Deviation, leaving his fate uncertain.
The Elbaf Arc May Be A Strong Arc For Kid’s Return
He May Get His Revenge Against Shanks

- Elbaf Could Be A Good Spot To Further His Rivalry With Luffy
- He Could Also Get Revenge On Shanks Here
For numerous fans, the Elbaf Arc could potentially solidify Kid as a formidable adversary for Luffy. While Kid has been depicted as a rival to the captain of the One Piece Straw Hats, his connection with Luffy appears rather shallow compared to a character like Law. If Kid reappears in Elbaf, this might offer an opportunity to observe both characters undergo significant growth, similar to how Luffy and Law evolved during their mission to defeat Kaido.
In the world of One Piece, it’s possible that events could unfold in Elbaf due to several compelling factors. Primarily, Kid, harboring a deep-seated grudge against Shanks following their recent encounter, might seek retribution against the Red Hair Pirate. Interestingly, Elbaf is an island with connections to Shanks, and this arc is rich in Shanks’ backstory and growth. Adding to this intrigue, Shamrock has been spotted near Elbaf, which could entice Kid towards the island for a potential showdown against Shanks. However, instead of facing Shanks, he might encounter Shamrock instead.
Kid Could Be Dead In One Piece
Few People Truly Die In The Story

Although it’s suggested that Kid’s return to Elbaf could answer some significant storylines, there’s no definite proof he’ll be there yet. Many fans believe Kid is alive, but there’s no firm confirmation that he made it through his encounter with Shanks. However, given the rarity of deaths in the One Piece narrative, especially those with unresolved arcs, it’s likely Kid is still alive, if not, then certainly still alive for now.
In contrast, the elite known as World Nobles seem almost barbaric. Meanwhile, the villains appear more compassionate when compared to the enslaved masses or the common people treated like merchandise.
In conclusion, although it’s highly probable that Kid is still alive, there’s no guarantee he’ll appear in the Elbaf Arc of One Piece. Yet, if he does make an appearance, this arc could be particularly significant for him in the Final Saga. Given his ongoing rivalry with Luffy and the numerous subplots involving Shanks, Kid might play a crucial role within Elbaf’s narrative. Furthermore, if he returns, viewers would eagerly anticipate the confrontation between two of One Piece’s strongest Worst Generation members.
