Hazelight Studios aims to crash yet another Game of the Year celebration with their latest cooperative production, Split Fiction. Many Xbox Game Pass and EA Play subscribers are eagerly waiting to learn whether this new game will be available on their respective platforms.
In other words, the success of the 2021 predecessor was due to the fact that it emphasized collaborative storytelling, proving that cooperative games are still vibrant and full of potential. Among the co-op games we’re eagerly waiting for in 2025, Split Fiction stands out as a clear frontrunner, showcasing the power of teamwork in narrative development.
It makes sense to include Split Fiction on Game Pass since it’s an EA game, and giving EA Play access seems reasonable. But remember, not every scenario follows a predictable pattern.
Can You Play Split Fiction on Xbox Game Pass?
It appears that Split Fiction won’t be available on Xbox Game Pass at its release, and all indications point towards it remaining that way.
Typically, fresh game announcement trailers often include mentions of Game Pass. However, during The Game Awards 2024, Split Fiction was unveiled without any immediate indication that it would be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
On the Xbox Store page for Split Fiction, they fail to disclose whether it’s eligible for Game Pass. Since the game hasn’t been released yet, there’s a chance this information might change. If anything updates, we’ll make sure to revise this page and notify you accordingly.
Will Split Fiction Come to Xbox Game Pass?
There’s no definite confirmation, but given the success of It Takes Two, there’s a possibility that Split Fiction might join Xbox Game Pass.
In March 2021, It Takes Two was launched. Around November 2021, the cooperative game became available on Xbox Game Pass. While it’s uncertain if history will repeat itself with Split Fiction, given the previous situation, keep an eye out for any updates regarding its availability.
Can You Play Split Fiction on EA Play?
Split Fiction is not available as a day-one title on EA Play.
Generally speaking, Electronic Arts (EA) doesn’t often offer their latest EA titles for free on EA Play at launch. However, if you have an EA Play subscription, you can take advantage of a Split Fiction discount. Much like Game Pass, it’s likely that Hazelight’s newest cooperative adventure will not become free on EA Play until some time has passed.
The Sony’s February State of Play event effectively increased the visibility for Split Fiction, and you can now watch an exhilarating new trailer that previews the numerous innovative concepts this upcoming release has in store.
