Last year, the manga of Jujutsu Kaisen officially concluded, and despite some aspects that could have been improved, fans found enjoyment in its ending. This is particularly true when considering the health challenges faced by the author throughout the process. The story was a thrilling ride leading up to the final segment in Shinjuku Showdown, and while the subsequent chapters may not have been as action-packed, they were still engaging and entertaining for fans.

In recent chapters, we’ve seen significant developments with the major clans taking center stage, as well as key figures in Jujutsu shifting their positions of authority. Additionally, new characters were introduced, and even familiar faces made a comeback, adding an extra layer of excitement to the narrative. One such character who left fans in awe upon a brief appearance towards the end was Suguru Geto, a figure well-known to many readers.

How Geto And Kenjaku Met Their End

  • Geto Died At The Hands Of Gojo
  • Kenjaku Fell In Shinjuku Showdown

Geto and Kenjaku are two different characters, yet they are very similar as well, given that for a significant period of time, Kenjaku held Geto’s body. Kenjaku is known to be an ancient sorcerer who has stood the test of time using his body-hopping cursed technique. Essentially, he can take control of various bodies by becoming their brain and living on as that person. This is how he was able to live for as long as he did, and how he eventually found his way to Geto as well. As far as Geto is concerned, fans know for a fact that he was one of the two strongest students in Jujutsu High in Tokyo at one point, alongside Gojo. However, eventually, he went down the wrong path and his goal became to kill all those who don’t possess cursed energy. He committed several acts of terrorism over the years, and eventually, he fell in battle at the hands of Yuta Okkotsu.

No matter what anyone says, I really hate those monkeys. — Geto Suguru

During their battle, it was evident that Yuta outclassed Geto in virtually every aspect. Even Geto’s most potent attacks were ineffective against a novice Jujutsu sorcerer, and Rika eventually left Geto on the brink of death. After Yuta emerged victorious, Gojo took care of Geto, although it seemed more like an obligation than a desire. However, Geto’s body didn’t succumb to Gojo’s efforts, which meant that Kenjaku now had a formidable physique under his control. Eventually, Kenjaku seized Geto’s body and grew even stronger, surpassing his previous level of power.

Afterward, Kenjaku began a series of violent acts aimed at paving the way for the reemergence of powerful sorceresses like Sukuna and restarting the Golden Age of Jujutsu. He made pacts with ancient sorcerers, who would later resurface to participate in the Culling Game. However, his demise came unexpectedly as he encountered an unusual fate at the hands of the author. To the shock of fans, Kenjaku was eliminated in a peculiar manner. Yuta Okkotsu and Aoi Todo managed to approach him stealthily, and the former delivered a devastating blow to Kenjaku’s head, severing it. Subsequently, his brain was pierced, allowing Geto to break free, marking the end of Kenjaku. But there is more to their story than that alone.

Geto’s Return At The End Of JJK And What It Means

JJK Chapter 270 Introduced A Geto Lookalike

Before the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen, fans were eagerly anticipating a wealth of surprises following the war in Shinjuku. Many hoped the author would bring back Gojo, a beloved character whose death was quite unexpected. However, this didn’t come to pass. Instead, Gege Akutami chose an unexpected character return – Geto.

It’s uncertain who this character really is, but it’s indisputable that the person’s body belongs to Geto Suguru.

Farewell, Gojo Satoru. I shall never forget you for as long as I live. — Sukuna

In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 270, viewers found Geto standing beside Takaba, talking about the upcoming moves of their next play. This revelation left fans in a state of bewilderment because it didn’t seem to fit with what they knew. To heighten the mystery, the author concealed the character’s face, leaving fans guessing who it might be. However, it was undeniably Geto’s body and not Kenjaku’s mind. The character made a brief appearance in the story, but his introduction sparked numerous questions, like what his intentions were and how he managed to reappear.

So far, there’s no information available about him as his appearance was concealed behind an enigmatic screen in the chapter we saw. Despite fan excitement to learn more, his presence was absent in the last chapter, leaving the mysterious figure’s real identity undisclosed.

When Will Fans Find Out The Truth About Geto’s Return?

Fans Will Likely Never Know The Answer

Absolutely, there’s no shortage of theories floating around about the origins of this intriguing character. Among them, the one that resonates most with me is the notion that this person isn’t necessarily Gojo or Geto, but shares a striking resemblance. The essence of who he truly is, I believe, is rooted in the Comedian technique mastered by Takaba. You see, with his knack for transforming anything into reality if it tickles his funny bone, it’s plausible that he conjured up a character resembling Geto Suguru. And, being the author of his own story, he molded this character to be an ideal companion, tailored just for him.

It appears that’s how readers interpreted the events in chapter 270 of JJK, but it’s sad to say that the author may never clarify this mystery. If JJK ever resumes, we might get some answers, but for now, it seems unlikely. This leaves fans with the knowledge that a character resembling Geto exists, and no definitive explanation as to why. Speculation among fans about the story’s details is always enjoyable, and they enjoy testing their theories against reality. Maybe one day, we’ll learn the truth about this Geto doppelganger too.
