The realm of One Piece abounds with enigmas, and it’s common knowledge among followers that in the ongoing Final Saga, the master mysteries of this world are gradually being revealed piece by piece. To put it simply, one of the most significant puzzles yet to be solved within the One Piece universe revolves around the D Clan.
Readers are unsure about who the “D” people really are, their origins, and their past events. The Roger Pirates unraveled the truth regarding the D clan only upon reaching the Final Island, known as Laugh Tale. However, author Oda has provided numerous hints suggesting their true nature, such as potential locations where they might now reside.
The D Clan And The Kingdom Of Gods In One Piece
- The D Clan Was Prominent During The Void Century
- The Kingdom Of Gods Was On Marijoa
In the fictional universe of One Piece, the D clan had a history dating back many centuries. It’s well-known among fans that this clan suffered oppression at the hands of the Founding 20, who eventually established the World Government. After the formation of the World Government, the D clan was systematically wiped out to such an extent that its surviving members began concealing their real names to evade scrutiny from those in power. However, it’s important to note that around 900 years ago in the One Piece world, the D clan was thriving, and there is a strong possibility that they were connected to the Ancient Kingdom.
Long ago, there existed a kingdom of gods atop the Red Line. — Whitebeard to Marco
900 years past, the realm depicted in “One Piece” bore a striking contrast to its current state. As Vegapunk attested, this world was not submerged beneath the sea, but rather sprawled across vast continents. A cataclysmic event from ages past caused the oceans to surge by 200 meters, submerging entire nations below their surfaces. However, the Red Line endured the test of time, remaining resilient. This indomitable structure could hold the answers to unraveling the enigma surrounding the D clan in “One Piece”. After all, it’s a testament to life’s tenacity that the Red Line has survived through everything. Even when the world was ravaged 800 years ago, the Red Line stood firm. The Lunarians also once dwelled above the Red Line, and their choice of residence is no accident. It’s the celestial kingdom where they resided that was eventually transformed into Marijoa by the World Government.
Why There Could Be A Kingdom Inside The Red Line
The Red Line Might Be Artificial in some Places
The Global Enclosure, an enormous structure encircling the entire planet, holds numerous secrets. One intriguing puzzle is the placement of Fishman Island, which seems remarkably accessible due to a gap beneath the Global Enclosure. Interestingly, it’s from this opening that the roots of the Sunlight Tree Eve emerge, providing light and air for the residents of Fishman Island.
In simpler terms, Usopp tells King Neptune that the Sunlight Tree Eve is similar to the leader or chief of the Yarukiman Mangrove!
The roots reach straight up to the line indicated in red, and it’s reasonable to assume that the tree extends above it. If Fishman Island receives light from this tree, then logically, areas higher than the tree should also be illuminated. This suggests that when the tree penetrates the Red Line, there must be parts of it that are lit up. If the hole beneath the Red Line is man-made, then maybe there’s a space within the Red Line where this tree provides light and air for those residing there.
Laboon and The Mystery Of The Red Line

As a fervent believer in the concept of the Red Line serving as a residential space, I must admit it initially seems peculiar. However, a closer look at Laboon might lend more support to this theory. You see, Laboon has a habit of repeatedly bumping her head against the wall. Initially, it was said that she did so due to the Rumbar Pirates, but in the New World, all whales exhibit similar scars. This suggests they’re hitting the wall from the other side.
According to Oda, these whales possess a sonar system that allows them to detect obstacles and prey. Remarkably, they seem oblivious to the Red Line as an obstacle. Could this be because the Red Line in this area is artificial and can be penetrated from within? Intriguing, isn’t it?
In the Egghead storyline, Oda demonstrated that certain doors could be passed through from one side, yet appeared completely solid from the opposite side. This could possibly hint at how the Red Line operates within the story.
Above all, it’s worth noting that Doflamingo, who appears knowledgeable about global history, has hinted at the survival of the D clan and suggested imminent downfall for the Celestial Dragons. Here’s his statement:
OR
Primarily, we should pay attention to Doflamingo’s remarks. He seems well-versed in world history, suggesting that not only is the D clan still alive, but also predicting a fall from power for the Celestial Dragons. This was his exact quote:
The D Clan remains hidden in the depths of history. They will eventually emerge at some point in time and space. Inform the Celestial Dragons of Marijoa, for they are destined to be overthrown by them. – Doflamingo
The D Clan has been concealed throughout history. Someday, they will make their appearance. Let the Celestial Dragons of Marijoa know, as they are fated to bring them down. – Doflamingo
The D Clan Might Be Alive Still
If indeed a realm called the Kingdom lies within the borders of the Red Line, sustained by the Sunlight Tree named Eve, then it’s plausible that its inhabitants are the D-folk, as suggested by Doflamingo. This theory could also shed light on why the Iron Giant attacked Marijoa centuries ago. If this colossal being was concealed within the Red Line, it would explain how it suddenly appeared and launched an assault against Marijoa without warning.
