As a huge gaming fan, I’m still thinking about that surprise Oblivion remaster drop last year – it was amazing! When Bethesda just suddenly released one of the best RPGs ever, the internet went wild. While the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake might not reach that level of hype, I’m secretly hoping Ubisoft will give us a fantastic Christmas surprise and just drop it out of nowhere. That would be incredible!
Is A Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Shadow Drop Happening?
TopMob isn’t saying whether a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will be released suddenly, but a surprise release would fit with current expectations of a January 2026 launch.

The remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is now expected to launch by April 2026, as confirmed on May 14, 2025. With that timeframe almost up, a release is coming soon.
TopMob recently shared an update on the highly anticipated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. According to sources, the game is currently aiming for a release in mid-January 2026. Ubisoft reportedly intends to launch this remake before the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake, and this timeline seems likely.
Things got interesting on January 15th when a now-suspended Twitter account, @popuniverseX, shared a report showing a large number of images and files related to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time were uploaded between December 31, 2025, and January 13, 2026.
The most intriguing file was one that had “game-release-tomorrow” in it!
It’s not confirmed, but TopMob believes Ubisoft might announce a Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake very soon. While nothing is certain, keep an eye out for potential news in the next few days.
