Gaming chairs used to be all about looks – often racing-style seats with bright designs – but they weren’t very comfortable and could actually cause back pain. Having spent my life working in the gaming world, I unfortunately found that out firsthand.
As we age, our bodies become less tolerant of unhealthy habits. For me, years of sitting in uncomfortable gaming chairs with poor posture finally led to back problems. About five or six years ago, I stopped focusing on “gaming” chairs and switched to a standard, comfortable office chair. It wasn’t anything special, just something that properly supported my back.
I have to admit, when DXRacer contacted me in late 2025 about trying out their new Martian Pro chair, I was pretty doubtful. I mean, I’d tried gaming chairs before, and they rarely lived up to the hype. But they were promising serious comfort, support that would last, and a ton of cool tech – things like power adjustments, a heated and cooled seat, and even a built-in massager! I figured I had to give it a shot, and honestly, it totally blew me away. It ended up being a much better experience than I expected.
A Premium Gaming Chair
The DXRacer Martian Pro Chair immediately feels like a high-quality product. All of its parts – the seat, armrests, and frame – are very well-made, noticeably better than most other gaming chairs. It was fairly easy to assemble, taking about 20 minutes, and once I finished (and realized my mistake of building it in the wrong room!), I was eager to test it out.
I’ve been using this chair for about eight or nine weeks, and I’m really impressed with how comfortable it is. It’s not just that the seat itself is cozy, but the extra features make a big difference. If your back is bothering you, the built-in massager helps. And if it’s hot, the cooling feature is a lifesaver. These things make it much easier to work or game for long periods.
The chair’s cushioning is firm and supportive without being uncomfortable. Even after using it daily for eight weeks, including some very long workdays, it still looks brand new. It doesn’t seem to be wearing down at all and feels like it will maintain its quality for a long time. Like most gaming chairs, the armrests are adjustable to fit different body types and sitting positions. However, the headrest pillow is particularly well-designed. Unlike other chairs where the pillow just straps onto the back, this one uses a magnet to stay securely in place and doesn’t shift around.
A Technical Marvel
The Martian Pro gaming chair feels like a significant upgrade from previous models. What really sets it apart is the built-in electronics – adjustments are now smooth and easy with the push of a button, replacing awkward, flimsy pedals. I’ve especially appreciated the adjustable lumbar support, which uses an airbag system to perfectly fit my back.
I was a little worried about the power cord at first – it felt a bit short, honestly. But it turns out the chair has a really great built-in battery! I can use all the features – the massage, heat, cooling, and adjustments – for a good couple of weeks without even needing to plug it in. And when it does need a charge, it’s back to full power in just a few hours, which is awesome.
Downsides
Does the DXRacer Martian Pro have any drawbacks? Like anything, it’s not flawless. The main issue is the price – around £580 in the UK. While the quality justifies the cost once you experience it, that price point could be too high for some. It’s also currently out of stock in the UK.
One minor drawback is the charging cable’s length – it’s only about a meter long. While I didn’t have any trouble with it, some people might find it a bit short for convenient use.
I really love the DXRacer Martian Pro chair and plan to keep using it for a long time.
