As we get closer to 2026, everyone’s eager to discover surprise hit games that quickly become popular. YAPYAP might be one of those, so let’s find out if it’s planned for PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo consoles for those who are hoping to play it.
YAPYAP looks incredibly promising. It’s highly likely to be released on Steam and PC, and we’ll share details about console versions soon.
Can You Play YAPYAP On PS5 Consoles?

YAPYAP is not on the agenda for PlayStation 5 owners, nor any PS4 players who haven’t upgraded yet.
For now, YAPYAP is remaining available only on PC. You can buy the game on Steam—you can find pricing details here—and it won’t be coming to PlayStation 5 anytime soon.
Like many games on Steam, this could potentially come to PlayStation 5 if there’s enough player interest. It also relies on the game’s developers and publishers being willing to bring it over, as we’ve recently seen with the success of Content Warning.
While popular games like Lethal Company and REPO haven’t yet come to consoles, Landfall is releasing Content Warning on those platforms. As one of the latest ‘Friendslop’ games—designed for fun with friends—it’s expected to be a popular choice for console players.
Can You Play YAPYAP On Xbox Series X|S Consoles?
There will be no Xbox Series X|S console launch for YAPYAP either.
For years, Xbox and PC gamers have been able to connect and play together. But sometimes, especially with smaller, independent games released on Steam, there’s still a disconnect – these games aren’t always available on Xbox at the same time.
Okay, so YAPYAP looks really fun, and I think Xbox players are going to love it. But here’s the thing – if I want to play with my friends and spam them with silly, fake levitation spells, we need to be on PC using Steam. It’s a bit annoying, but worth it for the chaos!
Can You Play YAPYAP On Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 Consoles?

While Nintendo consoles often receive a steady stream of smaller indie games and releases from other companies, YAPYAP isn’t expected to appear on the Nintendo Switch or its successor anytime in the near future.
The Switch 2 will feature a beautiful screen with 4K resolution, HDR, and a smooth 120 FPS refresh rate, ensuring a great gaming experience. The game YAPYAP is launching on Steam, but there are currently no plans to release it on consoles.
We’ll share more information as it becomes available, so please check back to see if a version for game consoles is released in the future.
Can’t stop talking about YAPYAP? It seems like a lot of fun! If you’ve tried the demo or are interested in the game, come share your thoughts on the free TopMob Discord server.
As a huge fan of indie games, I’ve been checking out what’s coming next year, and there are eight major titles slated for 2026 that you absolutely won’t want to miss! I’ve already put them on my calendar so I don’t forget!
