It Can Cost Up To $500,000 For A Spot On Opening Night Live 2025

As a long-time gaming enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of the industry over the past decades, I find it rather amusing and somewhat concerning that the cost to showcase your game at Opening Night Live has become as expensive as a high-end gaming PC these days!

The price for exhibiting your game during Opening Night Live at Gamescom in 2025 is expected to significantly increase, according to a recent report from GamesWirtschaft. The cost for a spot could potentially reach close to half a million dollars.

The report indicates that advertising costs begin at approximately €140,000 for a 30-second ad and can go up to around €465,000 for a three-minute ad in 2025. These prices are based on the current exchange rates. Additionally, there will be two new pricing tiers available in 2025 – a three-minute ad and a 150-second ad, which cost approximately €400,000 each. In total, there will be six different pricing options to select from, all of which are more expensive than the reported costs for the same duration in 2024. On average, prices have increased by between 17.4% and 21.9%.

2025’s Opening Night Live event is set to broadcast on August 18, a day prior to when Gamescom 2025 officially commences.
