Initially, it was expected that “Silksong” would be released in 2023; however, the release date was eventually delayed. Fans of the Hollow Knight series eagerly waited for major gaming events hoping to hear about “Silksong,” only to find out that these shows passed without any mention of the highly-anticipated sequel. As a result, “Silksong” became a popular meme, with fans sharing an image of the main character from the original game dressed as a clown whenever the game did not appear at Nintendo Directs or The Game Awards.
