The Sage of Six Paths is a truly legendary figure in the world of Naruto. Introduced in the original series, he’s known for his incredible power, stemming from the rare Rinnegan. He was so powerful, some compare him to Kaguya Otsutsuki, even suggesting he was stronger. Considered a god-like being, the Sage of Six Paths is responsible for the very origins of the Shinobi we see throughout the series.

The power levels in Boruto have changed dramatically. We’ve seen incredibly strong characters appear, some as powerful as, and even surpassing, the Sage of Six Paths. Most recently, Naruto Uzumaki has reached this level of power. Currently, he’s the only ninja in the Naruto universe known to have exceeded the Sage of Six Paths, a feat he accomplished by unlocking Baryon Mode.

The Sage Of Six Paths Was The Strongest In Naruto

Fans of the Naruto series understand that the Sage of Six Paths was exceptionally powerful because he was born with abilities inherited from Kaguya Otsutsuki. Kaguya was an incredibly strong member of the Otsutsuki clan, comparable to Isshiki, and possibly even a little stronger. She gained even more power by consuming the chakra fruit of Earth. She later gave birth to Hagoromo and Hamura, and Hagoromo specifically inherited the incredible power of the Rinnegan.

This world is my most cherished creation, and I won’t let you destroy it any further. I’m ending your existence now. All power – all chakra – belongs to me! I will reunite it all into one source. Hagoromo and Hamura, you deceived me. I’m taking back what is rightfully mine. – Kaguya Otsutsuki, Naruto

Hagoromo and Hamura ultimately teamed up to defeat Kaguya. After the battle, Hagoromo absorbed the Ten Tails, significantly increasing his power. His strength was so exceptional that his Rinnegan wasn’t considered a typical inherited ability (Kekkei Genkai), but rather a unique, more fundamental power type (Kekkei Mora). Beyond the Rinnegan and the Ten Tails’ abilities, Hagoromo possessed the Creation of All Things, a godly power that allowed him to create life itself.

Hagoromo was incredibly powerful, but it’s fair to question how strong he truly was. Even at his peak, he couldn’t defeat Kaguya Otsutsuki by himself and acknowledged she was superior, needing his brother Hamura’s assistance. Furthermore, even with the power of the Ten-Tails, he likely wouldn’t have been able to defeat Isshiki Otsutsuki.

It’s clear that Hagoromo Otsutsuki, also known as the Sage of Six Paths, was the most powerful character in the entire Naruto series. His abilities were far greater than those of Madara, and even surpassed Naruto and Sasuke working together.

Naruto Uzumaki Has Surpassed The Sage Of Six Paths With Baryon Mode

The series Boruto reveals that Naruto Uzumaki has actually become more powerful than Hagoromo Otsutsuki. While this might surprise some fans, it’s understandable when you consider that Hagoromo wasn’t as strong as Kaguya Otsutsuki during their battle.

After becoming the Ten Tails’ Jinchuriki, his power increased dramatically, potentially surpassing Kaguya. However, he would still have been less powerful than Isshiki, who was already known to be much stronger than Kaguya.

This power is incredible – it should be far stronger than anything he possesses. However, it comes with a serious cost: it shortens our lifespans. When Naruto unlocked Baryon Mode – a technique that combined his chakra with Kurama’s to create a massive, nuclear-like energy boost – his power increased dramatically. Kurama confidently stated that, with Baryon Mode activated, Naruto’s overall strength far exceeded Isshiki’s, and this was clearly demonstrated in their fight. At full power, Naruto completely overwhelmed Isshiki, who couldn’t even land a single blow. Naruto dominated the entire battle from beginning to end.

Considering Naruto Uzumaki briefly surpassed even Isshiki Otsutsuki in power, he was undeniably stronger than Hagoromo Otsutsuki as well. While Naruto lacked some of Hagoromo’s unique abilities, like creating things from nothing, he clearly possessed greater raw strength and overall power – a point that’s been definitively demonstrated.

Naruto Uzumaki Was Severely Nerfed In Boruto

It’s disappointing for fans to see Naruto Uzumaki sidelined and weakened in the Boruto series. He’s been completely sealed by Kawaki and hasn’t been a significant part of the story for over two years. Many fans feel that Naruto hasn’t been treated well, and this is a major point of criticism for the series right now.

Naruto’s Next Power-Up Is Highly Anticipated

Although Naruto is currently sealed, fans are confident he’ll be back eventually. When he does return, they’re hoping for a significant power boost, as anything less would be a letdown. As the central figure of the series – even in Boruto – Naruto deserves a powerful comeback. Fans are eager to see him reach a level of strength comparable to his previous Baryon Mode, especially since his power has been noticeably reduced in recent storylines.

Naruto earned the right to be a leader who inspires through his own strength, becoming the most powerful ninja of his time. We can hope his son, Boruto, will live up to that legacy.
