This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.
As the story of One Piece nears its end, Conqueror’s Haki appears to be the most powerful ability introduced by creator Eiichiro Oda. While not entirely new, Conqueror’s Haki was hinted at from the very beginning of the series and became a significant focus after the timeskip, when Luffy began training with Rayleigh.
Conqueror’s Haki is a powerful ability that lets a person dominate their opponents with sheer willpower. Unlike other powers, it can’t be learned through training; it develops naturally as the user becomes stronger. We first saw the advanced form of Conqueror’s Haki clearly demonstrated in the Wano Arc, where Luffy learned to use it against Kaido. Since then, One Piece has showcased several characters with incredibly strong Conqueror’s Haki. Recently, in Chapter 1170, the author, Eiichiro Oda, officially revealed that Loki is the latest character to possess this advanced form of the power.

In the final arc of One Piece, Devil Fruits are the main source of power for most of the strongest characters. These fruits come in three types – Logia, Zoan, and Paramecia – and each one enhances a user’s abilities. However, the other key to becoming powerful enough to compete with the very best is mastering Haki. Many fans believe Haki is even a more dependable path to strength.
As the story of One Piece nears its end, Conqueror’s Haki is proving to be incredibly important. This is largely because the World Government’s strongest leaders – including the Holy Knights, the Five Elders, and even Imu – are vulnerable to it. Advanced Conqueror’s Haki is a powerful ability that lets a user cover their entire body in Haki, significantly boosting their attack and defense. It massively increases the force of their attacks, giving those who can use it a real chance against the Holy Knights, the Five Elders, and Imu himself.
Luffy, Haki is a power that everyone possesses, a hidden ability to sense spiritual energy and overpower opponents. However, most people never awaken it. True strength comes from unwavering confidence. Let me show you – Haki generally manifests in two different forms, or ‘colors’.
The strength this power offers is truly amazing, and it increases as the user becomes more powerful. Considering how the story has unfolded so far, it’s clear that advanced Conqueror’s Haki is the most significant and crucial ability. We’ve already seen powerful figures like the Five Elders appear in the current storyline, and now the Holy Knights and Imu are also involved. To defeat these opponents and face whatever challenges come next after the Elbaf arc, mastering Conqueror’s Haki is absolutely vital.
Currently, fans believe Luffy and Zoro will demonstrate Conqueror’s Haki during the Elbaf arc. We already know Silvers Rayleigh from the previous generation was highly proficient in this ability. However, until recently, there were no confirmed new users of Conqueror’s Haki within the current storyline. Chapter 1170 of One Piece finally revealed that Loki also possesses this powerful skill.

In One Piece chapter 1170, I watched Loki face off against Ragnir. It quickly became clear Loki needed to overcome a serious challenge to get his hands on the legendary Devil Fruit of Elbaf. Ragnir turned out to be surprisingly strong, even managing to break Loki’s hammer – a feat made even more impressive by the fact that the hammer was imbued with Conqueror’s Haki! Ragnir’s power seems to be on par with the strongest characters in the One Piece world, and Loki had to unleash the full extent of his Conqueror’s Haki just to stand a chance.
I did everything I did to break the endless fighting and violence in Elbaf. I always meant for anyone who wanted to join the Navy to be able to, but not through this! I offer myself as your prisoner. Guards, please bind me to the post and immediately summon Elder Jarul and Loki. — King Harald, One Piece Chapter 1168
I’m absolutely fascinated by Loki’s story! After what he did, he somehow managed to get his hands on the legendary Devil Fruit from Elbaf and quickly became the strongest person around. Everyone’s talking about his Devil Fruit, and for good reason, but I think people are overlooking just how incredible his Conqueror’s Haki is. It was seriously powerful enough to defeat Ragnir – and that’s a huge deal! Ragnir held back powerhouses like Harald and so many others in the One Piece world, putting it at Yonko level, easily. The fact that Ragnir recognized Loki’s Haki just shows you how strong it truly is!
Loki’s Haki Can Rival Rocks And Harald
Loki possesses incredibly powerful Haki, as noted by Scopper Gaban. His Conqueror’s Haki causes immense pain to strong opponents like the Holy Knights, the Five Elders, and even Imu, hindering their ability to recover and potentially leading to incapacitation or death with repeated attacks. In Chapter 1170, Loki’s Haki significantly increased when he transformed into his hybrid form, demonstrating that Haki grows stronger as the user’s overall power increases. This is similar to how Luffy’s Haki is at its peak when he’s using Gear 5 – Loki’s strongest form also maximizes his Haki.
During the fight, Loki’s attacks, strengthened by Haki, were strong enough to break through Harald’s protective Haki barrier and significantly slow his healing. Loki even managed to cut through the Covenant Mark on Harald’s arm, snapping him out of whatever state he was in. Only then was Loki able to deliver the final, killing blow to Harald.
Loki’s Haki Is Still Weaker Than Shanks’s Haki
Currently, Loki is widely considered to have incredibly powerful Haki, among the strongest in the world of One Piece. However, Red-Haired Shanks surpasses even Loki in terms of Haki strength. Six years ago, Shanks was the one who ultimately defeated Loki. This establishes Shanks as definitively stronger than figures like King Harald, Rocks, Roger, and even Whitebeard.
Shanks is incredibly powerful, surpassing even Loki in strength. This makes him a truly formidable opponent. What’s remarkable is that Shanks doesn’t rely on Devil Fruit powers; he defeated Loki purely through his mastery of Haki. It’s now clear that Shanks is the strongest Haki user in the One Piece world, with Loki as a very close second.
Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga, One Piece, follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, on their adventure to find the legendary treasure, the One Piece. The story is currently in its final arc. The newest chapter, 1170, will be released in this week’s issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on January 4, 2026. In Japan, it will be available at midnight on Monday, which translates to 11:00 AM Eastern Time or 8:00 AM Pacific Time. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app, and by doing so, they directly support the creator.
