This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
In recent years, Jujutsu Kaisen has become a hugely popular anime and manga series worldwide. Even though the original story ended in 2024, it was a massive success. The manga returned in 2025 with a short sequel called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, which is still being released but is nearing its end.
As the current arc of Jujutsu Kaisen nears its conclusion, the series’ main character, Yuji Itadori, has returned. Chapter 19 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo marked his long-awaited comeback, and fans are incredibly excited. Yuji isn’t just back – he’s significantly more powerful than before! Everyone is eager to see him face his greatest challenge and definitively establish himself as the strongest sorcerer protecting humanity.
Yuji Itadori Mysteriously Vanished In Jujutsu Kaisen
- After the death of his friends, Yuji decided to leave
- Yuji was last seen at Hana’s funeral
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a fascinating follow-up manga by Gege Akutami, picking up after the original story concludes. Unlike what you might expect, it largely introduces new characters and is set 68 years in the future.
Essentially, most of the original characters from Jujutsu Kaisen are either deceased or have aged out of playing significant roles in the story. Despite this, the author, Gege, has successfully introduced a new and engaging group of characters. Though he hasn’t reintroduced many of the older ones, Yuji Itadori is currently involved in the Modulo storyline.
It recently came to light that Yuji Itadori disappeared several years ago. This discovery followed observations that he stopped aging. The cause of this is a mystery, and it’s been deeply upsetting for him.
Honestly, it’s been heartbreaking watching Yuji go through so much loss – he’s lost friend after friend over the past few years. It all became too much, and he just needed to escape his old life. Last anyone knew, he was at Hana Kurusu’s funeral – that’s what Nobara, one of his friends, told everyone. But now, he’s back, and I’m seriously on the edge of my seat to see what happens next!
Yuji Itadori Returns In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 19
Image from Manga Plus - Yuji is currently in Tokyo trying to stop the fights
Yuji Itadori is back in the story after a long time! He reappeared in Tokyo in the most recent chapter (19) of the Modulo manga. Fans are thrilled to see the popular hero from Shinjuku return, though they haven’t gotten a clear look at his face just yet.
For a long time, Yuji Itadori, the main character, developed slowly in terms of his powers. He didn’t get much stronger until the very end of the series. But now, Yuji has returned with a significant power boost, and his new abilities prove it. He immediately showcased his increased strength, and we can expect even more impressive displays of power as the story continues, which will also help him grow as a character.
Yuji Reveals His Newest Blood Manipulation Power Up

Yuji Itadori wasn’t always a powerhouse in Jujutsu Kaisen. Before his fight with Sukuna, he was actually a relatively weak fighter, particularly when stacked up against more skilled sorcerers like Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin.
During the fight with Sukuna, Yuji discovered a significant increase in his abilities. But even that level of power is dwarfed by what he can do now. When the story returned in Modulo, the author quickly demonstrated just how much stronger Yuji has become.
In the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (Chapter 19), Yuji demonstrated his incredible skill with Blood Manipulation, surpassing even his brother Choso. He used his Piercing Blood technique to destroy an entire building full of sorcerers and Simurians.
Piercing Blood normally needs a technique called Convergence to work, but Yuji couldn’t use Convergence during the Shinjuku arc. That meant Choso had to create it for him so he could access the power. Now, Yuji has not only learned to use Piercing Blood himself, but he’s also taken it a step further and evolved it.
Normally, even a master of Piercing Blood can only fire up to three arrows in a line. However, Yuji effortlessly unleashed a massive number of arrows, each traveling on its own path, and defeated all the sorcerers inside an entire building with one attack.
This is easily the most impressive use of Blood Manipulation we’ve seen in Jujutsu Kaisen, especially considering Yuji isn’t even at his full strength yet. Viewers have only caught a small taste of his potential so far.
Yuji’s Return Sets Up JJK’s Biggest Fight Yet
Image by Manga Plus - Yuji has to fight Dabura and save Yuka Okkotsu
In Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, Yuji Itadori’s return serves a crucial purpose: helping humanity combat a serious threat. As the story unfolds, Japan is facing a crisis with the arrival of aliens called the Simurians, who intend to make Tokyo their home and prohibit the exorcism of Cursed Spirits – something that must be prevented.
The talks were progressing well until Cross was shot, which sparked a massive battle for control of Tokyo. Dabura, the powerful leader of the Simurians, emerged as the biggest threat, and humanity responded by unleashing their secret weapon: Yuka Okkotsu. Yuka summoned the formidable Mahoraga, but it’s becoming clear that even Mahoraga isn’t strong enough to defeat Dabura, who is poised to overwhelm and destroy it.
It appears Yuka is doomed, but Yuji Itadori arrives to change things. He’s not just going to save Yuka, but potentially all of humankind. Plus, Yuji might be able to make peace with the Simurians, which is leading to what looks like the biggest battle yet in Jujutsu Kaisen.
The fight between Yuji and Dabura might finally allow him to fulfill his greatest wish: to die peacefully surrounded by his friends and family. He hasn’t been able to achieve this because of his unusual immortality. Fans are eagerly anticipating what the author, Gege, has planned for Yuji’s story next.
The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is currently being published in Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. It takes place 68 years after the Shinjuku Showdown arc and follows Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta and Maki. Chapter 19 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is scheduled to be released on January 25, 2026, at midnight JST (11:00 AM ET / 8:00 AM PT). Fans can read it for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
