It’s Time To Say Goodbye One Piece’s Newest Manga Forever

If you ask anyone about globally popular manga, I bet One Piece is one of the first titles that pops into their head! It’s absolutely incredible – it’s officially the best-selling manga ever, with nearly 600 million copies out there worldwide. It’s way ahead of anything else, honestly!

Given how popular One Piece is, it’s no surprise that many spin-off series have been created by different artists. Recently, an anime adaptation of one of these spin-offs, called One Piece: Heroines, was announced. However, fans will be disappointed to hear that One Piece in Love, a very popular spin-off, is coming to an end. While some spin-offs are just starting, One Piece in Love gained a lot of fans after its short anime last year, and the manga will conclude on January 22, 2026, after 180 chapters. Hopefully, even more exciting spin-off series will emerge in the future.

One Piece In Love Is Ending On January 22, 2026

  • Chapter 180 marks the end of the manga
  • One Piece In Love was greatly loved by all fans

As announced earlier this week, the One Piece spin-off manga, One Piece in Love, by Daiki Ihara, is coming to an end. While it flew under the radar for a while, the manga gained popularity last year, in April 2025. A six-episode anime adaptation also helped introduce it to a wider audience of fans.

The manga series One Piece in Love is nearing its conclusion, with the final chapter scheduled to be released on Shonen Jump+ on January 22, 2026. Though a relatively short series, it’s been a success, reaching a total of 180 chapters – a significant length for a comedic spin-off. There’s also a possibility that One Piece in Love could be adapted into another anime in the future, as there’s still plenty of material available.

One Piece in Love is One of Many One Piece Spin Off Series

One Piece in Love definitely grabbed the attention of fans. Though it’s based on Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, the connection is mostly through little nods and shared character names. It’s a completely separate story with characters that are very different from the main One Piece series. Still, it was an enjoyable experience for fans.

One Piece in Love is just one of several spin-off series created over the years based on the popular One Piece franchise. Another well-known comedic spin-off is One Piece Party, which features characters from the main story and is enjoyed by many fans. This spin-off allows fans to see the Straw Hat Pirates in humorous situations with both familiar and new faces.

Beyond the main story, there are also several completed spin-off stories. For example, “Chopperman” reimagines Chopper as a superhero and surprisingly casts Usopp as a villain. While many of these are lighthearted and funny, One Piece also offers more serious, standalone stories. “Shokugeki no Sanji,” a short story focusing on the popular character Sanji, is a good example. These are just a few of the many spin-offs that have been created over time.

One Piece Fans Would Love More Serious Spin-Off Series

  • Dragon and Garp Are Oda’s Top Picks

Now that the One Piece in Love series has finished, many fans are hoping for more spin-off shows. Ideally, these new series would be more substantial and closely tied to the main One Piece story, as some fans felt One Piece in Love wasn’t really a true spin-off.

Good news for One Piece fans: a spin-off series focusing on side characters is a possibility, though it won’t happen right away. Eiichiro Oda, the series creator, has said he plans to develop stories about characters like Monkey D. Garp, and potentially even Monkey D. Dragon and the Revolutionary Army, once he finishes the main One Piece story.

New series focusing on different characters would be incredibly exciting and would add even more depth to the already rich world of One Piece. Because One Piece has so many characters and a vast story, it’s impossible for the creator, Oda, to fully develop everyone in the main manga. Therefore, fans would likely enjoy these side stories that explore those characters in more detail.

  • One Piece Won’t End Before 2030

The spin-off series, One Piece in Love, is finishing up, but the main One Piece manga is still going strong. Having run for over 28 years, it’s a remarkably long-running series, already exceeding 1100 chapters. While creator Eiichiro Oda occasionally predicts when the story will end, fans have learned to expect those timelines to be a bit optimistic, as he often needs more time to develop the complex storylines.

It looks like One Piece is going to be around for a while! The manga is currently in the Elbaf arc, and there’s still a lot of story left to tell. Most fans expect it to continue at least until 2030, but a more likely end date is around 2032.

Eiichiro Oda has created so many interesting storylines that, given the current pace of the manga, it will likely take him several years to finish them all and deliver a satisfying conclusion for readers.

Some One Piece fans are eager to see the story conclude, wanting to know what happens when Luffy achieves his dream of becoming Pirate King, what the legendary ‘One Piece’ actually is, and the secrets of the Void Century. However, others want the series to continue indefinitely, as it’s become a significant part of their lives.

One Piece, which appears in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, is expected to continue for many years, especially since there aren’t any other major series currently strong enough to take its place. Fans can rest easy knowing the manga will run for at least five more years. However, this also means that any potential spin-off series created by the author, Eiichiro Oda, are unlikely to appear for a considerable time.
