The latest arc of *One Piece*, focusing on Elbaf, is really building excitement as it delves into the long-awaited Loki flashback. Currently, creator Eiichiro Oda is revealing the history of Rocks D. Xebec and the events of the God Valley Incident, and fans are loving it. Oda has done an amazing job developing Rocks D. Xebec, especially considering he first hinted at the character around six years ago, immediately establishing him as a powerful and mysterious figure.

Honestly, after seeing Rocks animated and following his story for a while now, I can confidently say he’s become one of my absolute favorite characters in *One Piece*. So many fans, myself included, have really connected with Rocks D. Xebec, which makes it so tough to see him go. As we know, he tragically dies during the God Valley Incident, bringing an end to the life of what was truly one of the greatest pirates ever to sail the seas.

One Piece has done a fantastic job of gradually developing the character of Rocks D. Xebec, culminating in the events at God Valley. Fans are really enjoying Rocks’ story arc, and there’s still more to come in the next few weeks. However, fans are also aware that Rocks D. Xebec will ultimately die at God Valley, as Eiichiro Oda has mentioned several times.

Fans of One Piece increasingly believe Imu played a crucial role in the defeat of the Rocks Pirates. Chapter 1162 revealed Imu actually took control of Saint Jaygarcia Saturn to fight Rocks and his crew. This sets the stage for an epic confrontation, likely between Imu and the most famous pirate of all time. Ultimately, Rocks is expected to be defeated. Eiichiro Oda may show Imu using the Domi Reversi ability on Rocks, potentially allowing Garp and Roger to finish the job, or Imu might directly kill Rocks himself.

Fans have really grown to love Rocks D. Xebec, and it’s hard to see him go after such a strong showing in recent chapters. He’s a truly exceptional One Piece character, and the fact that he quickly gained the fear of the world government and won over fans demonstrates just how legendary he is. While it seems we’re nearing the end of Rocks D. Xebec’s story, it’s likely Oda will give him a fitting and memorable conclusion that honors his character.

One Piece Chapter 1162 is scheduled for release this week, as usual on Sundays. While it becomes available in Japan at midnight on Monday (JST), most international fans will be able to read it on October 12th. The official release date is October 12, 2025, and the chapter will be available for free on Manga Plus.
