It’s Time To Say Goodbye To Solo Leveling’s Protagonist Forever

This article contains spoilers from Solo Leveling Ragnarok.

Fans of *Solo Leveling* are really excited for season three of the anime, especially since season two was so popular earlier this year. Given how much the series is growing in popularity, it’s surprising that a third season hasn’t been officially announced yet.

Although Season 3 of *Solo Leveling* is still some time away, fans have some exciting updates to focus on. A major interview with the author, Chugong, was recently released, revealing some of his plans for the future of *Solo Leveling*. Chugong confirmed that a sequel is possible, but he also shared disappointing news for those who enjoy *Solo Leveling Ragnarok*. He explained that *Ragnarok* takes place in a separate universe and is purely for fan enjoyment. This means the main story won’t connect to *Ragnarok*, and Sung Suho, the lead character in *Ragnarok*, won’t play a role in future installments.

Solo Leveling Ragnarok Is Officially Set In A Different Universe

Suho Is Canon, But Doesn’t Exist In The Chugong Universe

  • Chugong might continue Solo Leveling
  • Suho will not exist in the new version

After the popular series *Solo Leveling* finished, many readers started following its sequel, *Solo Leveling Ragnarok*. Although the sequel wasn’t written by the original author, Chugong, fans generally accepted it as part of the official story – and Chugong himself agrees that *Ragnarok* is canon.

It’s now official: Solo Leveling Ragnarok takes place in a separate universe and doesn’t affect the original Solo Leveling story at all. This means characters like Sung Suho aren’t actually part of the main Solo Leveling universe. Here’s what the author, Chugong, has said about it:

Ragnarok was created as a treat for fans of the series. I wanted to see how a different writer would approach the world of Solo Leveling. While it takes place in the same universe, it doesn’t follow the main storyline directly. Think of it as exploring one of many alternate possibilities, much like the different universes in Marvel. I’m also thinking about potentially writing a sequel myself down the line.

Sung Suho Was A Brilliant Character

Fans Loved The Character Writing In Solo Leveling Ragnarok

It’s intriguing that the author of Solo Leveling, Chugong, wants to create a sequel himself, but many fans are upset because this means the character Sung Suho will be removed from the story. A new, official storyline will essentially ignore everything that happened with Suho. It’s also disappointing for fans that Ragnarok won’t be considered a direct continuation of Solo Leveling, especially since many actually believe Ragnarok is even better written than the original series. Ultimately, it’s a shame that Suho’s story will be dropped and the focus will likely shift back to Sung Jinwoo.

I can’t officially announce Season 3 yet, but we really need everyone’s support to make it happen. Just like Son Goku’s Spirit Bomb – which gathers energy from everyone to defeat his opponents – we need fans around the world to rally behind Solo Leveling if we want to create another season. — Atsushi Kaneko

Currently, there are 25 episodes of Solo Leveling available – the first season has 12 episodes and the second has 13. You can watch both seasons on Crunchyroll. While we wait for news about season 3, reading the original Manhwa (comic) is a great way to continue the story.
