To begin with, a user had to become the host of the Ten-Tails. This was Madara Uchiha’s lifelong goal, though he didn’t realize he was actually carrying out the plans of Kaguya Otsutsuki.

The Infinite Tsukuyomi is an extremely potent illusion cast from the moon. It blankets the world in light, bypassing all defenses, and traps anyone with chakra in an endless dream. Within this dream, people live out their ideal lives, but their chakra is slowly absorbed by the God Tree, ultimately turning them into White Zetsu. Essentially, this jutsu is so powerful it could easily devastate the entire planet.

The Infinite Tsukuyomi technique was first used by Kaguya Otsutsuki after consuming the chakra fruit from the God Tree. This awakened her Rinne Sharingan, allowing her to use the moon to control everyone on Earth. Later, during the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara Uchiha gained the power of the Six Paths by becoming the host of the Ten-Tails and absorbing the God Tree. This gave him a Rinne Sharingan, which he then used to cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi, aiming to control the entire world.

Recently, a new jutsu was introduced in Boruto – Omnipotence – and it’s now officially more powerful than even the Infinite Tsukuyomi. It’s a whole new level of strength!

The name “Omnipotence” immediately suggests it’s the most powerful technique in the Naruto and Boruto universe. Interestingly, it’s not a typical ninja technique (ninjutsu) but a “Shinjutsu” – a special type of power used by the gods. Shibai Otsutsuki, considered the strongest of all Otsutsuki clan members, first unlocked Omnipotence and ascended to godhood, shedding his human form. After his death, Amado was able to recreate this power and transfer it to Eida.

How Omnipotence Works

Omnipotence is a remarkable ability that instantly fulfills the user’s wishes. However, for Eida, controlling this power is extremely challenging. Despite this, Omnipotence can accomplish anything the user desires, even without conscious thought, and has no limits. It only doesn’t work on individuals with Otsutsuki powers or those who are blood relatives of the user. Eida’s use of Omnipotence throughout the series provides a clear illustration of its capabilities.

Eida desperately wanted everyone to love her, and her incredibly powerful ability, Omnipotence, unintentionally made that happen. Whenever anyone looked at her, they would instantly fall in love. She couldn’t control this power – it just happened automatically, similar to how she later caused Kawaki to want to switch lives with Boruto. At the end of the first part of the Boruto series, this led to Kawaki and Boruto swapping bodies because Eida’s ability affected the entire world, making everyone perceive Boruto as Kawaki and Kawaki as Boruto. Since then, Kawaki has been living in Konoha as Naruto Uzumaki’s son. What’s truly remarkable is that even if someone does realize the truth, Omnipotence repeatedly overwrites their memory, making it almost impossible to remember what really happened.

Much about the power of Omnipotence is still a mystery. It seems to have very few weaknesses, and it’s particularly difficult to overcome because it constantly alters the memories of anyone it affects. Hopefully, the author, Ikemoto, will eventually show us a way to defeat this jutsu, as the story can’t move forward if it remains unbeatable. As of now, it’s the most powerful technique we’ve seen in the series.

More Powerful Otsutsuki Jutsu Will Be Revealed In Boruto

Although Omnipotence is currently the most powerful Shinjutsu we’ve seen in Boruto, the story could easily introduce even more formidable abilities in the future. Fans know Shibai Otsutsuki is still alive, and if he returns as a villain, he’ll likely be an extremely powerful opponent with Jutsu that could surpass Omnipotence. Plus, characters like Kawaki and Boruto Uzumaki have the potential to unlock amazing new powers as the series progresses. For now, all fans can do is wait and see what happens.
