This article contains spoilers from the One Piece series.
Loki is a fascinating character in One Piece and is currently a major topic of discussion among fans. While he first appeared in the Whole Cake Island arc, his full introduction came with the start of the Elbaf arc. Loki is incredibly powerful and known for causing chaos. His strength comes from both his unusual birth and the impressive physical abilities he was born with, as well as a powerful, legendary Devil Fruit.
Ever since the beginning of the Elbaf arc, fans have been eagerly anticipating the reveal of Loki’s Devil Fruit power. One Piece chapter 1170 finally offered a first look, and it’s confirmed to be a Mythical Zoan – but it’s far more impressive than anyone expected. Early indications suggest this power is incredibly strong, potentially making it one of the most powerful Devil Fruits ever seen.
Loki’s Devil Fruit Has Been Passed Down The Generations In Elbaf
- Elbaf’s Legendary Devil Fruit Was Guarded By Ragnir
- Loki Ate It 14 Years Ago
The idea of Loki having a Devil Fruit power was first mentioned in Elbaf, early in that storyline. When Loki officially appeared in the manga, Luffy went to meet him, and they seemed to connect, despite Loki’s initial reluctance to be friends with the Straw Hat captain. Still, Loki talked with Luffy, hoping it would lead to a chance to break free from his restraints. Notably, Loki mentioned that sea prism stones were weakening him, which was the first clue to fans that he actually possessed a Devil Fruit power.
Loki stole the incredibly powerful Devil Fruit from Elbaf, and the giants fear he’ll use it to destroy the world if he isn’t stopped.
It wasn’t long before it was confirmed he had eaten the famed Devil Fruit of Elbaf. They also discovered that Loki was incredibly powerful – a monster capable of destroying not only Elbaf, but the whole world. Even Luffy felt a shiver down his spine when he sensed how strong Loki was, even while weakened by Sea Prism Stone. This really shows just how immense Loki’s power is.
Eventually, details about a famous Devil Fruit from Elbaf came to light. During a feast, it was revealed that Loki killed Elbaf’s most powerful king, Harald, and then consumed the country’s legendary Devil Fruit. This fruit is rumored to grant Loki the power to destroy the world, confirming its status as a legendary item.
The story also shows this Devil Fruit has been handed down through families in Elbaf for generations, and hasn’t been eaten by anyone for centuries. Loki’s Devil Fruit has a direct connection to the Sun God Nika; he claims to be the Sun God spoken of in Elbaf legends and believes his fruit gives him Nika’s powers. While fans know this isn’t actually the fruit of the Sun God Nika, it’s clear that Loki’s fruit is still incredibly strong.
Fans had been anticipating Loki’s introduction for months, excited to see his unique power. The recent flashback to Elbaf finally revealed what that power is, and it’s unlike anything seen in One Piece before – a truly incredible ability.
Loki Finally Consumed His Legendary Devil Fruit In Chapter 1170

Chapter 1170 of One Piece featured the long-awaited fight between Loki and Harald. Initially, Shanks and Scopper Gaban fought to contain Harald until Loki could consume a Devil Fruit and gain its abilities. While Gaban and Shanks managed to hold Harald off and even landed some strong blows, it was ultimately Loki’s newfound power that brought the battle to a halt.
Loki Is The First In Centuries To Eat Elbaf’s Legendary Devil Fruit
Image by Viz Media Loki fought Ragnir hoping to gain the power of the legendary Devil Fruit. The battle was challenging, but Ragnir ultimately acknowledged Loki’s strength. Loki then ate the Devil Fruit of Elbaf, a power not seen for centuries, and transformed into a massive creature with menacing eyes. This new form immediately attacked Harald, inflicting severe injuries. Viewers witnessed Loki’s hand change into a claw, which he used to cut through Harald’s protective Covenant Mark, briefly immobilizing him. Loki quickly finished the fight, defeating Harald. It’s now evident that the Devil Fruit Loki consumed is a rare Mythical Zoan type, allowing him to transform into various creatures.
Loki’s Devil Fruit Seems To Be The Mythical Zoan Fenrir
The initial hint about Loki’s powerful Devil Fruit ability is the development of sharp claws, suggesting he transforms into something resembling a dog or dragon. When Loki grew into a massive form, the artist deliberately obscured his full body, but made his spiky hair visible. This detail is important because a dragon transformation likely wouldn’t include such hair. This evidence supports the theory that Loki’s Devil Fruit allows him to become a wolf – specifically, the legendary wolf Fenrir from Norse mythology.
I did everything I did to break the endless fighting in Elbaf. I always meant for anyone who wanted to join the Navy to be able to, but not through forced conscription! I offer myself as your prisoner. Guards, please bind me to the post and immediately summon Elder Jarul and Loki. — King Harald, One Piece Chapter 1168
Considering Loki’s human-like appearance supports the theory that he isn’t the Nidhogg Dragon. Dragons typically have wings, but the shadow figure clearly showed a dog-like snout instead. This strengthens the idea that Loki possesses the Fenrir Devil Fruit. While the Nidhogg Dragon can create lightning – a power Loki also has – Loki primarily fights using his claws. If he were a dragon, his main attack would likely be different.
Fans have now gotten a first look at Loki’s abilities as a Devil Fruit user, though the fruit’s name hasn’t been revealed yet. Most believe it’s the Fenrir Devil Fruit.
