It’s Time To Welcome The Real Strongest Yonko In One Piece

This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.

In the world of One Piece, the Yonko are the four strongest pirates, and their power is so immense they’re considered one of the forces that maintain global stability. The first group of Yonko consisted of Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, and Shanks. But things have changed significantly, and now only Shanks remains from the original group. The current Yonko are Luffy, Blackbeard, Buggy, and Shanks.

Although the positions of the Yonko have shifted, they are still incredibly powerful. Now, in the final part of the story, it’s become clear who the strongest Yonko is: Red Hair Shanks. Shanks seems destined for greatness, and his importance in the story’s conclusion will likely mirror Luffy’s. Currently, his power might even surpass that of legendary figures like Roger and Rocks.

The Strongest Yonko In One Piece Has Always Been Debated

  • Some Believed it Was Kaido, Others Thought It was Whitebeard
  • Shanks is The Strongest Yonko of One Piece

Determining the strongest of the Yonko has always sparked debate among fans. For a long time, people couldn’t agree on who was the most powerful. Whitebeard was consistently a top contender, often called the World’s Strongest Man. He was remarkably close to finding the One Piece and even fought on equal footing with Roger.

Kaido is a major contender for the title of strongest Yonko in One Piece. Known as the ‘strongest creature in the world,’ he was considered unbeatable in one-on-one fights. He proved his immense power during the Wano arc before ultimately being defeated alongside Big Mom.

Many fans debated which of the Four Emperors (Yonko) was the strongest, with Luffy and Blackbeard often mentioned as contenders. Blackbeard’s power comes from possessing two Devil Fruits, and Luffy recently achieved the form of the Sun God Nika and defeated Kaido. However, as the story has progressed, it’s become clear that Shanks is currently the strongest. He’s the most powerful pirate we’ve seen in One Piece so far, and while Luffy might eventually surpass him, Shanks is currently the undisputed strongest.

Shanks’s Power Could Even Surpass that of Roger and Rocks

  • Shanks’ Haki was Compared to Joy Boy
  • Shanks is the Child of Destiny

Shanks has demonstrated incredible power in One Piece, arguably making him the strongest of the Yonko. He’s consistently shown to be the most skilled Haki user currently alive, and the author, Oda, directly compared his Haki to that of Joy Boy on Egghead. Even the giants Dorry and Brogy weren’t sure if Joy Boy’s Haki surpassed Shanks’s. This is significant because Joy Boy’s Haki was powerful enough to repel the Five Elders all the way back to Marijoa and even inflict fear and pain on Imu.

In contrast, Imu was recently attacked by a group of incredibly powerful individuals – Rocks, Roger, Whitebeard, Big Mom, Garp, and Kaido – and each of them used Conqueror’s Haki. Despite this overwhelming attack, Imu didn’t even react. This suggests that the next Joy Boy, and therefore Shanks’s Haki, is on an entirely different level. Shanks is known as the Child of Destiny for a reason, and his role in the story’s conclusion will likely be just as significant as Luffy’s.

To really emphasize how strong Shanks is, it’s important to remember that the author, Oda, presented Rocks as being roughly equal in power to Harald. Harald, despite being defeated by the power of Domi Reversi in Elbaf, was killed by Loki – a tremendously powerful character. And Shanks actually defeated Loki! This shows Oda clearly intends for Shanks to be on a higher power level, which makes sense considering the comparisons to Joy Boy.
