Now that 2025 is over, it’s clear that One Piece was a standout series last year. While it’s starting 2026 strong, the One Piece manga will unfortunately be taking a break after a fantastic chapter released last week. The break begins on January 11, 2026.

The next chapter of One Piece, chapter 1171, has been delayed. It will now be released on January 18th instead of January 11th. While this is disappointing, delays are common around this time of year. Fans can anticipate another break after this one, but the rest of 2026 looks exciting with many big events planned. As a huge One Piece fan, I wasn’t shocked to hear about another break coming up! But this time, it’s not Eiichiro Oda taking a breather – it’s Weekly Jump itself! Basically, all the manga published in Jump are taking a break next week, so it affects more than just our beloved Straw Hats.

Following previous delays in December due to the holidays and Eiichiro Oda’s health, another break has been announced. Jump magazine will have a break week on January 11th, which will also be the first break week of 2026. This means that One Piece chapter 1171 is now officially delayed.

Following those chapters, One Piece will probably take another short break. Oda typically works for about three chapters before taking time off, so a break is likely coming soon.
