Actor Jean Reno, renowned for his work in films like “Leon: The Professional,” “Godzilla,” and “The Da Vinci Code,” has hinted at a possible reprisal of his role if the third installment of the action-adventure series “Onimusha 3: Demon’s Siege” receives a remaster. In this game, Reno lent his voice and likeness to the protagonist Jacques Blanc, marking it as the only video game in which he has been involved.

The Onimusha series has now joined Capcom’s elite group of best-selling video game franchises, alongside Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Devil May Cry. Originating in 2001 with Onimusha: Warlords, the series has since released four main games and several spin-offs like Onimusha Tactics and Onimusha Blade Warriors. In February 2025, after it was announced that Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny was being remastered, VG247 contacted Reno’s representative to see if the actor would want to reprise his role from Demon Siege. Reno’s character, Jacques Blanc, is one of the two main characters in the third installment, opposite Hidemitsu Samanosuke Akechi, and he was the first Westerner to use the Oni Power as a future French officer. Reno’s representative shared a statement from the actor stating that he would be happy to reprise his role in Onimusha 3. However, Reno only provided his voice for the French version of the game due to a busy schedule, but if a remaster is approved, he may be able to perform both languages.
