Summary
- Negan actor Jeffery Dean Morgan’s phone was spotted in a scene, not his first blunder on set.
- Beth Greene’s actor also had a phone slip in a scene, proving mobile mishaps aren’t uncommon on set.
- Fans can anticipate seeing more of Negan, maybe even his phone, in upcoming Walking Dead spinoffs.
Throughout its 11 seasons, it’s clear that the world of The Walking Dead is a ruthless environment where characters fight tooth and nail for survival. Interestingly, even Jeffery Dean Morgan, who portrays Negan, finds acting in this series challenging, particularly when he has to part with his modern-day technology.
After concluding its legendary journey on November 20, 2022, “The Walking Dead” continues to hold a cherished place in the hearts of many zombie enthusiasts. Whether it was the stellar cast, featuring stars like Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Danai Gurira, and Lauren Cohan, or its gripping and perilous storyline, there’s no denying that this series will be remembered as one of the best in TV history. Each fan of “The Walking Dead” has their preferred villain from the show, but Negan, with his charming and entertaining persona, sharp wit, and mischievous smile, often tops these lists. Though viewers may not sympathize with many of his heinous actions, particularly the infamous Glenn scene that pushed some fans away, his complex moral framework and intriguing backstory have solidified him as one of the show’s most significant contributions.

In a Reddit post about The Walking Dead, user richard_carlisle noted an inconsistency in a scene involving Jeffery Dean Morgan’s character, Negan. This scene is from season 11, episode 14, where there was a tense standoff between the Savior leader, Glenn, and Herschel, Maggie’s son. During this confrontation, it appears that young Herschel pulls out a gun and points it at Negan. However, it turns out that Negan had been hiding a cell phone in his back pocket throughout the scene, which he later reveals when he sits on the window sill.
In episode 12 of season 4, Emily Kinney’s character, Beth Greene, wasn’t exempt from troubles either. Instead of taking care of herself in the forest, she got into trouble with walkers and had to be rescued by Daryl. Interestingly, as she removed her blood-stained sweater, a mobile phone visible in her pocket caught the camera’s eye. This incident underscores the reason behind Ben Stiller’s prohibition of mobile phones on the set of Severance.
Fans will be able to delve deeper into the life of Negan (possibly even glimpse his phone) in Season 2 of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” when it premieres this spring. Additionally, they can look forward to Season 3 of “Daryl Dixon” at some point during the year as well.
