Jennifer Aniston’s Hilarious Last of Us Cameo Reaction

Spoilers for The Last of Us season 2, episode 2

Summary

  • Season 2 of The Last of Us features a humorous “cameo” by Jennifer Aniston in a magazine.
  • Some A-list actors like Catherine O’Hara and Joe Pantoliano join the cast.
  • Aniston jokingly responds to her unexpected post-apocalyptic appearance on her IG stories.

The second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us” adaptation is far from being labeled as humorous, but a comedic “cameo” from Jennifer Aniston, formerly of “Friends,” has sparked a laugh-out-loud reaction on her IG account from her co-star in “The Morning Show.” This post-apocalyptic series boasts an impressive roster of A-list actors, including Pedro Pascal from “The Mandalorian” as Joel Miller, and Bella Ramsey from “Game of Thrones” as Ellie. In the second season of “The Last of Us,” Catherine O’Hara joined the cast to play Gail, a therapist and resident of Jackson, alongside Joe Pantoliano portraying her on-screen husband, Eugene.

Previous notable stars who graced our screens were Melanie Lynskey from the show Yellowjackets and Nick Offerman of Parks and Recreation. Jeffrey Wright joined in for Season 2 of The Last of Us, playing the character Isaac Dixon. As viewers have found themselves still processing, episode 2 of the series delivered its most jaw-dropping moment yet when Abby confronted Joel, engaging him in a game of golf before brutally attacking him with her bare fists. However, prior to this intense scene, there was a more tranquil instance where Ellie explored a shop, stumbled upon a magazine, and even discovered a gas-mask bong. It was during this sequence that the actor from Friends made their debut in the post-apocalyptic world for the very first time.

Jennifer Aniston Hilariously Responds to Her The Last of Us Season 2 “Cameo”

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but reflect on the chilling impact of “The Last of Us” Season 2, episode 2, titled ‘Through the Valley.’ This episode will undoubtedly linger in our memories as one of the most harrowing and startling episodes, leaving non-gamers utterly shocked at the imminent transformation of Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) into a gruesome paste. Yet, in an attempt to momentarily escape the gloom, another scene in the episode offers a refreshing change with Jennifer Aniston’s delightful, fleeting appearance that you might easily miss if not paying close attention.

In the midst of a storm approaching Jackson, Ellie and Jesse seek refuge in a convenience store. To their surprise, they find out that this store used to belong to Eugene and has been transformed into a marijuana farm. As Ellie browses through an issue of People Magazine featuring Britney Spears and Kate Hudson on the cover, she stumbles upon a segment showcasing the “best and worst dressed” celebrities in Hollywood. Jennifer Aniston is right in the center of this feature. Though we’re unsure if Aniston falls into either category, we do know that she was unaware that she would appear on an episode of The Last of Us before it aired.

As a cinema enthusiast, I’ve always dreamt about this: After her Instagram stories post on Sunday night, Aniston hinted at being a fan of “The Last of Us.” With the upcoming season expected to be even darker than before, wouldn’t it be fantastic if Jennifer Aniston could lend her comedic touch to the series? I mean, who wouldn’t want a bit of laughter amidst all that apocalyptic trauma and heartache?

The Last of Us Season 2 streams on Max, with new episodes dropping every Sunday.
