From my perspective, the second season of “Solo Leveling” kicked off with thrilling installments, satisfying many fans’ anticipation for intense action. I witnessed Jin-Woo overpowering the Ice Elf Boss within an A-Rank Dungeon, simultaneously increasing his Shadow Army in the process. The opening episodes left no doubt that Sung Jin-Woo has significantly grown in power.
I, a devoted fan, have been marveling at the astonishing progress Jin-Woo has made utilizing The System. Now, he wields some formidable weapons that are nothing short of awe-inspiring. It’s essential to acknowledge that our hero isn’t just any ordinary commander; he boasts more than one A-Rank soldier in his Shadow Army. Initially, Jin-Woo was an E-Rank Hunter, but the Architect’s blessings have propelled him to become one of the mightiest Hunters Korea has ever seen.
Sung Jin-Woo Decides To Re-Evaluate His Rank
He’s Officially An S-Rank Hunter
In most cases, reassessing ranks in Solo Leveling doesn’t bring any change for Hunters. Typically, they find themselves paying a large sum for this reassessment and ending up disheartened as their rank remains unchanged.
Indeed, there are exceptional situations where a person might experience a revival, typically in the heat of combat for a Hunter. In these instances, the Hunter Association steps in and assigns agents to reassess the Hunter. This is exactly what occurred with Jin-Woo following his safe exit from the Double Dungeon. However, since he hadn’t utilized The System during that time, Jin-Woo remained at E-Rank after his re-evaluation by the Association.
Occasionally, I witness individuals seeking a fresh start, whom I’d describe as disillusioned dreamers, arriving at the Hunter Association headquarters.
Upon Jin-Woo’s second testing, some agents initially perceived him as yet another “self-proclaimed Hunter” likely to squander resources. However, upon recognizing that he had returned from the Double Dungeon for retesting, it became clear that their initial suspicions were unfounded.
Initially, the agent was taken aback upon receiving an error message as soon as Jin-Woo touched the machine. At first, she assumed it was just a malfunction, but she quickly discovered that the device couldn’t measure Jin-Woo’s mana levels. This revelation signified that Jin-Woo had advanced to the S-Rank Hunter status, making him Korea’s tenth S-Rank Hunter, following in the footsteps of Cha Hae-In who was the ninth.
Jin-Woo’s Power Level Compared To Other S-Rank Hunter
Jin-Woo is recognized as one of the top ten elite S-Rank Hunters from South Korea, yet there isn’t a formal method for assessing how he stacks up against other S-Rankers. This is because the mana machine yields an error when evaluating S-Rank Hunters, making it impossible to compare their mana levels directly. However, S-Rank Hunters possess the ability to sense each other’s power level. In the initial episode of Season 2, Jin-Woo perceives that he is on par with Baek Yoonho, South Korea’s least powerful S-Rank Hunter. Nevertheless, after the Red Gate Arc, Jin-Woo experiences growth and has surpassed Baek Yoonho in terms of strength.
In the fourth installment, it’s revealed that Jin-Woo perceives Go Gunhee’s power and finds a striking resemblance in their strength at that given moment. Even though Go Gunhee is advanced in years, he remains potentially the most powerful Hunter in South Korea. If Jin-Woo is nearly equal to Go Gunhee, it implies that he surpasses other Korean S-Rank Hunters in terms of strength.
The S-Rank Status Opens A Lot Of Doors For Jin-Woo
He’s Being Approached By Some Of The Wealthiest Guilds
Prior to the reassessment, not many individuals were aware of Jin-Woo’s hidden abilities. However, once the highly anticipated reassessment results were made public, it became common knowledge that he had been promoted to an S-Rank Hunter, which might explain why some extremely wealthy guilds began showing interest in him. Since achieving an S-Rank is relatively uncommon, news of Jin-Woo’s promotion quickly spread like wildfire. In fact, the head of South Korea’s largest Guild, Choi Jong-In, was already making inquiries about the Hunter who had allegedly defeated the Red Gate. Remarkably, he found himself standing right next to the man he sought. Choi Jong-In instantly detected Jin-Woo’s powerful mana and extended a friendly gesture, but Jin-Woo politely declined, stating that he was pressed for time. Thus, it can be said that Jin-Woo has already turned down an offer from South Korea’s wealthiest guild.
Simultaneously, Baek Yoonho, head of the White Tiger Guild, hastened towards where Jin-Woo was located within the building. Baek’s intention to recruit Jin-Woo has been made clear, but with Jin-Woo now being an S-Rank, Baek is becoming increasingly anxious about securing Jin-Woo for his Guild. With five major guilds in Korea, it’s evident that the other three guilds will also attempt to enlist Jin-Woo. However, if Jin-Woo were to join one of the five guilds, it could potentially disrupt the equilibrium among them.
Five titans are struggling to keep their equilibrium, but once you align with any of them, the equilibrium will be irrevocably disrupted – that’s what Gunhee told Sung Jin-Woo.
In the episode, Go Gunhee pointed out that the five dominant Guilds are precariously holding a fragile equilibrium, and if Jin-Woo were to join one of these Guilds, this equilibrium could be destroyed, potentially leading one Guild to control the entire country. To counteract this, Go Gunhee proposes that Jin-Woo join the Korean Hunters Association. If Jin-Woo were to become part of them, the Hunters Association could grow strong enough to regulate these Guilds. However, just as anticipated, Jin-Woo declines Go Gunhee’s invitation. At first, it seems that Jin-Woo is rejecting the offer due to monetary reasons, but there appears to be more at play in his thoughts. It turns out that the Hunters Association doesn’t participate in Dungeon Raids, and Jin-Woo requires fighting monsters to advance in levels.
Currently, Jin-Woo is drawing an unusual amount of attention, and it seems this won’t let up in the near future. At present, Jin-Woo holds the position of Korea’s tenth S-Rank Hunter, but it won’t be long before he ascends to become the world’s strongest. Once that happens, our cherished hero can expect invitations from guilds beyond Korea as well.
