The following contains spoilers from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga and anime.
In the final episode of season 2, Jinwoo triumphed over the Ant King, regaining control of Jeju Island from magical creatures. This epic battle was captivating and left viewers in awe. The skillfully designed fight scenes, combined with the significant consequences of this storyline, made every second seem crucial.
Despite the awe-inspiring nature of the fight, the “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” trilogy is poised to leave an even stronger mark with its stunning animations and emotionally intense battles. Unlike past battles that will be etched in memory for years, one upcoming battle promises to surpass all others in terms of anticipation, outshining even the epic duel between Jinwoo and the Ant King.
Ant King Vs Sung Jinwoo: What Makes it So Special?
A Perfect Combination of Brilliant Cinematography and Buildup
In delving into the exhilarating showdown between Ant King and Sung Jinwoo in the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy, it’s crucial to grasp what makes their fight so enthralling. One major factor contributing to its massive buzz is that the series has been carefully building up to this epic confrontation from the very first frame of the anime.
The failed raids on Jeju Island were hinted at subtly throughout the narrative, whether through character interactions or flashbacks, creating a sense of anticipation over two seasons. This slow burn of tension made the eventual showdown all the more electrifying.
Are there others? Others you call king?
Witnessing this unfold, I felt an ominous mix of apprehension and anticipation as Jinwoo ascended to Korea’s 10th S-rank hunter. However, what followed left fans reeling with astonishment. The combined Korean-Japanese raid team was mercilessly vanquished by the Ant King, a formidable adversary who dispatched some of the world’s elite hunters effortlessly. As Jinwoo engaged in an epic struggle against the S-rank dungeon boss, each moment brimmed with uncertainty and tension. The climactic buildup was masterfully crafted to showcase Sung Jinwoo at his finest.
This Infinity Castle Battle Set to Surpass Jinwoo’s Fight With Ant King
Kokushibo’s Fight Will Be Even More Memorable and Captivating
It’s indisputable that Sung Jinwoo’s battle with the Ant King was a standout moment. However, the Infinity Castle trilogy is gearing up to elevate things significantly. Each encounter with the Upper Moons promises to be intense and unveil secrets that could leave fans stunned. Yet, one fight in particular is expected to have a profound impact.
Although Kokushibo is known as one of the strongest demons currently in existence, he has yet to engage in battle. Few details are known about him by fans, but as the story approaches its climax, this is expected to change. Within the Infinity Castle, the Upper Moon will encounter Muichiro, Sanemi, Gyomei, and Genya individually. No other demon, apart from Muzan Kibutsuji, has ever fought against so many swordsmen simultaneously.
The reason Kokushibo’s fight is thrilling is because he’s up against Hashira who are among the best from the Taisho era. Each one has honed their bodies to peak performance and is an exceptional swordsman, possibly the top practitioner of the breathing style they specialize in.
Kokushibo, although outnumbered, is ready to engage in a merciless battle that will drive his opponents to their limits. The fight promises to be thrilling, and as we delve into the backstories that unfold, the experience will become all the more unforgettable. At this point, Kokushibo’s life remains veiled in enigma, but when his past is disclosed, fans will not only be surprised but also gain a deeper understanding and respect for the Demon Slayer saga.

In addition, this impending confrontation is likely to prompt Genya and Sanemi to reveal their deepest feelings to each other. Their heartfelt declarations will inspire them to defend each other selflessly. As Sanemi discovers his hidden strengths, the resurrection of his Demon Slayer Mark will introduce an exhilarating turn in the battle. When Kokushibo’s combat concludes at last, it may well depict one of the saddest moments in the entire series.
From my perspective as a bystander, while Sung Jinwoo’s duel with Ant King appears to be a captivating solo performance, the clash between the Demon Slayer and Kokushibo is far from monodimensional. Unlike focusing solely on one character’s progression, it offers an opportunity for all participants to make their mark.
On September 12, 2025, the initial part of the “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” trilogy will hit the screens in the USA.
