While Jujutsu Kaisen has a compelling story, many fans primarily watch for its thrilling fight scenes. As a battle-focused series, it’s natural that certain characters have emerged as the strongest. Currently, Gojo Satoru and Ryomen Sukuna are widely considered the most powerful characters in the series. However, Gojo Satoru is currently sealed, a development that occurred during the second season of JJK.

Sukuna hasn’t fully returned yet, still needing to collect all his fingers. With that in mind, a remarkably strong new character is appearing in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 – many believe Yuta Okkotsu could be the strongest sorcerer we’ve seen so far. As a Special Grade sorcerer with an incredibly powerful cursed technique, Yuta is making his debut in the anime and has quickly gained a lot of attention from fans.

When fans discuss the most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, two names often come up right away:

Gojo and Sukuna are vastly more powerful than anyone else in their world. Gojo’s strength comes from the extraordinary abilities he inherited at birth. He wields the Limitless, a unique and highly valued technique of the Gojo Clan. Limitless allows him to manipulate Infinity, granting him incredible powers like Neutral Infinity, Blue, Red, and the devastating Purple, which can obliterate anything in its way.

Although the Limitless technique is incredibly powerful, Gojo relies on his Six Eyes to actually use it. He’s the first sorcerer in four centuries born with both Limitless and the Six Eyes, making him a uniquely formidable opponent. The Six Eyes give him an unmatched ability to perceive everything around him, especially cursed energy.

For viewers who haven’t read the manga, Sukuna’s incredible power is still largely unexplained. While fans know he’s the King of Curses with an immense amount of cursed energy, and that he can use techniques like Cleave and Dismantle, the full extent of his abilities remains a secret. Even in his current state, with not all of his fingers recovered, Sukuna is already an extremely powerful being, and he’s only going to become more formidable as the story progresses.

Yuta Okkotsu Stands As The Strongest Sorcerer In Gojo And Sukuna’s Absence

For those following Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo Satoru was trapped during the Shibuya arc in Season 2 and remains imprisoned in the Prison Realm as Season 3 begins. Sukuna is also still contained – he hasn’t absorbed all of Yuji’s fingers yet, meaning Yuji is still holding him back. Because of this, Sukuna isn’t fully powered up despite his considerable strength.

Despite everything else happening, the most powerful sorcerer has returned – it’s Yuta Okkotsu, who many fans will recognize from the prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0. From the moment he entered Tokyo Jujutsu High, Yuta was designated a Special Grade Sorcerer, which is incredibly rare and remarkable, even within the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Yuta’s incredible strength comes from his unique cursed technique. Called “Copy,” it lets him replicate the abilities of others – essentially, he can use their powers as his own. However, there are some limitations to how it works.

Yuta needs to eat a piece of someone to copy their abilities, and he can only use those copied abilities for five minutes at a time.

I’ve been observing Yuta, and his abilities are truly remarkable. He’s connected to a tremendously powerful cursed spirit named Rika, which is actually a core part of his own cursed technique. This connection gives him access to a massive amount of cursed energy and essentially provides him with a very strong fighting partner. Honestly, Rika is so powerful that if she were acting independently, she’d be considered a top-level threat – a Special Grade – and could likely defeat most of the characters we’ve seen in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Yuta Okkotsu Makes an Iconic Return in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

Yuta Okkotsu recently returned in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, and immediately showed fans why he’s considered such a powerful fighter. He easily defeated the series’ main character, Yuji Itadori, and surprisingly, didn’t even need to use his full strength to do so. This is particularly noteworthy because Yuji had previously fought against a powerful Special Grade Curse, Mahito, with another ally in a two-on-one battle.

This highlights just how much more powerful Yuta is compared to most high-level Cursed Spirits. After disappearing from the main story following the events of JJK 0, Yuta is back, having spent time training abroad at Gojo’s request with Miguel. He was already capable of defeating Geto Suguru in JJK 0, and has become even stronger since then.

Fans who only watch the anime initially believed Yuta Okkotsu had become an enemy in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 when he attacked and defeated Yuji. However, it’s now clear that he’s actually working with the sorcerers.

Now that Gojo Satoru is still sealed, Yuta Okkotsu is expected to play a major role in the upcoming third season of Jujutsu Kaisen.

What struck me about Yuta Okkotsu’s words is his simple, raw longing. He doesn’t ask for much, really – just to connect with another person, to feel useful to them, and to find the peace of mind to simply live without questioning if he should.

Yuta and Yuki, both incredibly skilled sorcerers, are expected to play key roles in the upcoming third season of Jujutsu Kaisen. They’ll be involved in crucial fights, and the story suggests the other characters wouldn’t have stood a chance against their powerful opponents without their help. With the stakes higher than ever, fans are eagerly awaiting the new episodes.

The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen is now airing, adapting the Culling Game arc. It picks up the story after Gojo Satoru’s sealing during the Shibuya incident.
