JLab Jbuds ANC 3 True Wireless Earbuds review

As a seasoned gamer and audiophile who has tested countless earbuds and headsets, I can confidently say that the JLab Jbuds ANC 3 Wireless earbuds have earned a special place in my collection. With a mid-tier budget-friendly price point of around £60, these earbuds offer top-notch active noise cancellation (ANC) and an impressive battery life of approximately 40 hours.

I’m increasingly fond of JLab as a top-notch earbud and earphone manufacturer. Their Studio Pro headset and Epic Edition Earbuds have won me over recently, and now I’ve been testing the more budget-friendly JLab Jbuds ANC 3 Wireless earbuds.

Despite their lengthy name that can be tricky to pronounce and type, they’re an outstanding choice for those on a mid-range budget. Priced approximately at £60, they deliver robust active noise cancellation and boast a noteworthy battery life, which extends up to around 40 hours from a fully charged case. Additionally, these headphones are water and sweat resistant with an IP55 rating, making them perfect for gym workouts, home exercises, or even strolling in the rain.

JLab Jbuds ANC 3 True Wireless Earbuds reviewLike the Epic Edition, the Jbuds are lovely to look at, with an unusual design that allows them to nestle in the are just right – though it does make them a little fiddly to get out of the case. And the case itself, while functional, feels less robust and (naturally) expensive than their pricier cousins. One element I really liked was that if you turn the pillbox over, there’s a tiny USB-C wire attached that you can plug straight into a plug-head to charge them.

Just like many JLab products, it syncs seamlessly with both mobile and PC platforms, offering you the flexibility to customize preset EQ settings for optimal sound quality. The 10mm drivers excel at producing clear, crisp audio spanning various musical genres, and they performed exceptionally well when used in conjunction with the Steam Deck for gaming audio as well.

The noise cancellation feature works quite effectively, although it may not be completely consistent like some higher-end models. There’s a slight issue of sound leakage, but considering their price range and category, the noise cancellation they provide is impressive. I frequently use these noise-cancelling earbuds at work or in my bustling household of six, and they have proven to be quite reliable. Out of the box, there are three modes available (which can be customized using the app): on, off, and a pass-through mode. To switch between them, you simply need to long-press on the JLab logo located on the earbud itself.

In essence, the Jbuds ANC3 offers fantastic value for its price, with standout features such as Active Noise Cancellation, excellent sound quality, and user-friendly design. However, I find the process of removing them from their packaging a bit tricky, but this is a minor issue when considering the overall benefits.
