I speculate that Mark could take the youngest child to safety somewhere during the movie.

Introducing this plot twist would address several concerns. Firstly, it would make Sidney and Mark uneasy about Ghostface attacking their youngest child. Consequently, they’d devise a secure hiding spot. Secondly, it would keep Sidney central to the storyline, preventing Scream 7 from becoming overly bloated. The challenge for Scream 7 is finding its unique identity, and I fear that the new characters might overshadow the legacy cast members that fans are most eager to see.

If Sidney and Mark have just two children who are high school students, it’s likely that Mark will show up in select scenes for Scream 7. By doing so, we can maintain the spotlight on Sidney, as she’s the character everyone is most eager to see. Given that this is a horror series, any romantic moments need to convey a sense of tension since there’s a murderer at large. The past heartfelt scenes between Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Dewey Riley (David Arquette) were both tense and amusing. I don’t mind including some tender moments between Sidney and Mark, but I prefer more focus on Sidney than her spouse.

Some viewers speculate that Mark Evans might portray Ghostface in “Scream 7,” and I concur that the film could persuade spectators to perceive him as an evil assassin. However, I also believe that Mark will serve as a decoy. Sending Mark off-screen would be a clever ruse suggesting Ghostface’s presence. Perhaps Sidney struggles to contact him, leading her to question whether he’s been misleading her all along and increasing her determination to unmask Ghostface.
