John DiMaggio and Carlos Ferro Return in Gears of War: E-Day

As a die-hard Gears of War fan who has spent countless hours blasting Locust hordes since 2006, this news about Gears of War: E-Day sends chills down my spine! The return of John DiMaggio and Carlos Ferro to voice Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago respectively is like reuniting with old friends. I can almost hear the gravelly, foreboding tone of Marcus Fenix again, a sound that has been part of my gaming life for two decades now.

Five months have rolled by since Gears of War: E-Day was unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase, leaving us with little more than anticipation. Today, The Coalition dropped a bombshell – John DiMaggio and Carlos Ferro, the voices behind Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago respectively, will be back to reprise their iconic roles in E-Day!

The Glory Days

2006 saw the debut of Gears of War, which has since produced numerous sequels, earning a reputation as one of the finest exclusive franchises on Xbox. Since the last significant addition to the series was released five years ago, we may have a while longer before another installment arrives, considering that Gears of War: E-Day doesn’t currently have a release date specified.

On a recent social media update, The Coalition team announced that John DiMaggio and Carlos Ferro will once again bring their memorable characters to life for E-Day.

Today marks the 18th anniversary of the release of Gears of War, and we’re thrilled to announce that John DiMaggio and Carlos Ferro will once again lend their voices to the beloved characters Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago for the upcoming game, Gears of War: E-Day.

It wouldn’t have been right to have anyone else voice them – especially Marcus Fenix. That gravelly, foreboding tone has been instantly recognisable for almost twenty years.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled about E-Day! This upcoming title serves as a prequel, guiding us back to the early chapters of the epic storyline where the Locust emerged and waged war on the world of Sera. The original Gears of War game gave us a glimpse into that timeline, but with E-Day, we’re venturing even deeper into the past.
