JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Who’s the Strongest Joestar?

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Who's the Strongest Joestar?

Key Takeaways

  • Star Platinum has time-stopping abilities, while GER can nullify attacks and return them infinitely. (116)
  • Requiem requires master the Stand Arrow, while Tusk Act 4 is difficult to manifest consistently. (91)
  • Requiem is sentient and Tusk is brought forth in specific situations, possibly making Giorno the strongest Joestar. (113)

As a die-hard fan with over two decades of following this iconic series, I must say that the debate about the strongest Joestar is as thrilling as any battle between these extraordinary characters! While each member brings their unique charm and abilities to the table, my personal favorite has always been Giorno Giovanna wielding Gold Experience Requiem.

The Joestar clan characters are the brave main characters in the series “JoJo’s Weird Journey.” Each one brings something vital to the storyline, with their distinctive Stand abilities. There’s ongoing speculation among fans about who among the Joestars is the most powerful. Given the extraordinary powers some characters from “JoJo’s Weird Journey” demonstrate, it’s a fascinating discussion.

Among Jotaro Kujo’s Star Platinum, Giorno Giovanna’s Gold Experience, and Jonathan Joestar’s Tusk, who among these three Joestars is considered the most powerful? Given that Jodio’s abilities are yet to be fully revealed compared to the other eight Joestars, let us examine the top three and determine which one reigns supreme as the strongest.

Jotaro Kujo – Star Platinum, The All-Powerful Brawler

Blinding Speeds, Time Manipulation

Jotaro is the main character in Stardust Crusaders and appears most frequently among all Joestar characters. He’s also widely recognized as the symbol of the franchise because of his immense popularity. Jotaro uses Star Platinum, a distinctive purple humanoid warrior with light armor, as his stand. Star Platinum is renowned for his skills in close combat, delivering powerful and swift punches. At first sight, it may seem like Star Platinum can only punch at incredible speeds and with immense power, similar to meteorites. However, he’s capable of landing hundreds of such strikes in the time it takes to blink an eye.

There’s only one reason why you lost…you pissed me off

However, it’s not just Star Platinum’s physical strength that sets him apart, but rather his unique ability to pause time. With the incantation “Star Platinum – The WORLD,” Jotaro can momentarily halt time for five seconds while maintaining movement. This, coupled with his speed, often enables him to vanquish adversaries before they even sense a threat. Known foes like Yoshikage Kira, N’Doul, Anubis, and the notorious DIO Brando have all fallen under Jotaro’s command. His unblemished record has earned him widespread recognition, leading Enrico Pucci to acknowledge Star Platinum as the world’s strongest Stand. But is this reputation truly justified?

Giorno Giovanna – Gold Experience Requiem, The King of Kings

The Merciless Life-Giver, The Ultimate Defense

In the series Golden Wind, Giorno Giovanna takes center stage as a character. He’s the son of DIO Brando, who once inhabited Jonathan Joestar’s body. Essentially, Giorno carries traits from both his parents – he inherits Jonathan’s sense of justice and heroism, while also embracing DIO’s ruthless nature.

This is…Requiem

In a unique twist, Requiem or GER possesses an enhanced capacity for life-generation. Unlike typical methods that require direct contact, he can transform ordinary objects into lethal creatures using a powerful finger beam. However, it’s his extraordinary power, Return to Zero, that truly sets him apart – this ability allows him to nullify and repel any assault directed at him. Utilizing this power, Requiem deflects attacks from Diavolo and King Crimson, then turns the tide against them. In a fitting punishment, he sends Diavolo into an endless death loop, causing him to die in countless ways repeatedly.

In JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Requiem engaged in just one battle, yet his immense power left an indelible impression. His ability essentially renders him invulnerable, enabling him to deflect any attack and counter with a stronger strike. Even Giorno’s strategic intellect is valuable in combat, but Requiem is self-aware and autonomous, rendering Giorno’s intentions irrelevant. In essence, Requiem stands as an unyielding barrier that cannot be moved or influenced.

Johnny Joestar – Tusk Act 4, The Golden Ratio

It’s Been Truly a Roundabout Path

Johnny Joestar is the protagonist of Steel Ball Run. He’s the star jockey participating in the grand Steel Ball Run Race across the United States. Johnny and his friend Gyro Zeppeli battle many deadly enemies during the race with the power of the Spin. Johnny wields the unusual Stand named Tusk. Similar to Koichi Hirose’s Echoes, Tusk evolves through “Acts”, becoming stronger and gaining more abilities with each evolution. During a life-or-death battle, Johnny combines the power of the Golden Spin with his own Stand power and Tusk evolves into Act 4.

In a new development, Tusk significantly enlarges and acquires a permanent form of his Golden Rectangle Nails skill. Empowered by the Golden Spin’s Infinite Rotation Energy, each shot from Tusk’s nails now ensures a constant hit with no end. Once an enemy is struck by Tusk, their demise becomes inevitable and unavoidable. With each strike, Tusk relentlessly attacks the foe using his Stand Rush, ultimately delivering the final, decisive blow.

Thank you…Gyro…

In essence, Tusk stands as a stark contrast to Gold Experience Requiem. Whereas Requiem serves as an unbeatable defense that repels all attacks, Tusk represents an unstoppable offense, ensuring it strikes its target regardless of circumstances. This unique dynamic has sparked intense discussion within the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure community regarding a hypothetical showdown between Giorno and Johnny.

In this debate, it’s possible that the solution lies in practicality. Johnny’s Tusk Act 4 is a result of an exceptional, extreme scenario. To bring about Act 4, Johnny must direct the Golden Ration and his horse’s power in a precise manner, which makes its use highly impractical. Unlike Act 4, Requiem became a part of Giorno due to his mastery over the Stand Arrow, making it easier for him to use consistently. However, Tusk Act 4 had a confrontation with Diego Brando, thus granting it more screen time compared to Requiem.

The Requiem ability, which belongs to Giorno Giovanna, serves as an ultimate defense and counterattack, while Tusk Act 4 is used for a powerful offense and always hits its target. Unlike Tusk, which manifests in critical situations, Requiem is sentient and independent from Giorno, capable of acting on its own. Consequently, it’s possible that Giorno and his Gold Experience Requiem could be the strongest member of the Joestar lineage.
