The original plan for the Avengers: Secret Wars concluded with the Earth’s strongest heroes facing off against Jonathan Majors’ character, Kang the Conqueror. The movies Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and both seasons of Loki set the stage for Kang’s appearance by introducing different versions of Kang. However, Marvel Studios decided to remove Majors from the role of Kang following his conviction on two misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment. This led many to believe they would no longer see Majors as Kang. Yet, a recent rumor hints at the possibility of Kang’s return.

According to ScreenGeek, it was suggested that Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige might be contemplating the return of actor Jasper Major’s character as Kang in the MCU. Unlike reinstate Kang as the main antagonist for the Multiverse Saga, the report implied that the idea was to use Majors in an undisclosed future MCU project to resolve outstanding storylines related to Kang. However, TMZ reports that several sources with direct knowledge have indicated that Major’s has not yet held discussions about reprising his role as Kang.

In response to TMZ’s report suggesting that Marvel Studios might bring back Majors as Kang, MyTimeToShineHello clarified that ScreenGeek’s article mentioned Marvel was considering the idea, not that it was in active negotiations. However, TMZ’s sources claim that Marvel Studios is not planning to re-cast Majors in the MCU. Meanwhile, The Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez, another reliable source, has stated emphatically that there is no truth to the rumors about Marvel considering to bring back Majors as Kang.

Couldn’t help but wonder if fans are pondering: Will Majors reprise his role as Kang? Although Majors’ portrayal of Kang’s variants in ‘Ant-Man 3’ and ‘Loki’ garnered acclaim, the character didn’t strike a chord with many viewers. It was rumored that Marvel Studios contemplated swapping Kang for the main antagonist in the Multiverse Saga following ‘Ant-Man 3’, despite Majors being one of the film’s few bright spots. However, Kang’s repeated easy defeats in each appearance might weaken his menacing presence for the upcoming ‘Avengers’ movies.
