Josee Fading Bond Quest Guide in Code Vein 2

Okay, so I finally beat Josee in Code Vein 2 and freed her, but when I went to check on our bond at Josee’s Outpost, it was super weak and I couldn’t interact with it. Turns out, getting it back to full strength is a whole thing! It takes a lot of steps, and even includes some tough boss fights. I found a really helpful guide that walks you through everything you need to do for Josee’s quest, and it also tells you what rewards you get when you finish it. It’s a lifesaver if you’re like me and want to complete everything in Code Vein 2!

How to Repair Josee’s Fading Bond (Josee Quest Guide) in Code Vein 2

Players can’t start working on restoring Josee’s fading bond right away. It’s also important to know that finding spices for Josee during free exploration is a separate task and doesn’t affect her bond. However, completing that spice request does give you the key needed to open the locked gate in the Mountain Underground Facility.

Once you’ve beaten Josee, your next goal is to reach the Undead Forest. There, you need to locate Hero Holly and free her from her cocoon, similar to how you freed Josee.

After finishing the main story in Undead Forest, you’ll unlock Holly’s fading bond. You need to complete this bond to progress to Josee’s bond, as it gives you an item only available once Holly’s story is finished. To do this, you’ll find two pieces of Camillo’s past and go to the Sanatorium to defeat a strong boss. This battle will change the history of Undead Forest.

After altering the past in the Undead Forest, return to the Sanatorium to refight Hero Holly. However, completing this step isn’t required to begin Josee’s storyline.

You can enter the building and take Lise’s Hair Ornament from the desk. This will trigger a series of memories involving Lise and Holly. Once that’s done, return to Josee’s Outpost and interact with the bond there.

When you activate it, you’ll travel back in time to an outpost where you need to help Josee battle enemies. After surviving the fight, you’ll watch a scene with Gobbo before returning to the present. Your next goal is to locate Josee’s sister in the Sunken City.

Quickly travel to the Hill Overlooking Clock Tower. Then, head southeast towards the tower to find a girl standing outside. Speak with her, and she’ll give you the Shelter Key. Use this key to open the Underground Shelter located within the tower and you’ll be able to find Lise.

After finishing up at the outpost bond, head back to the past to trigger another cutscene with Gobbo. Once he’s done talking, make your way to Bureau’s Castle, which is northwest of Sunken City. You couldn’t reach this place before, but now you’ll find two enemies guarding the entrance. Defeat them, then go inside to confront Gobbo and Oskar.

You’re now facing both opponents simultaneously. The second part of this battle is very challenging, especially due to Gobbo’s attacks. These attacks inflict Luna Rapacis, preventing you from healing or receiving support from your ally.

After defeating the boss, you’ll unlock the “Messiah” trophy/achievement and return to the outpost. From there, you can travel back to the present to see how your actions changed the timeline. You’ll also earn the “A Place of Memories” trophy/achievement for altering history in the Sunken City.

After speaking with Lise, head to Josee’s cocoon and free her – this will start the final battle against Hero Josee. Be careful, as many of Josee’s attacks cover a large area, making them difficult to avoid, though you can block them with well-timed parries.

Don’t try to get greedy with your hits because you will take a lot of damage in that case.

After defeating the boss, you’ll unlock the Hero Josee Blood Code and earn the “True to Oneself” trophy/achievement.
