This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Fanatics were taken aback when they learned that Jujutsu Kaisen is set to continue with a new manga titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo. This upcoming series, which unfolds many decades into the future, has already started off on a powerful note. Since both timelines are interconnected, it’s only natural for fans to speculate if any original JJK characters might reappear, and there’s certainly a chance for that. With a time gap of 68 years not being particularly vast, some characters, such as Maki and Yuta, may have passed away, but the others are likely still alive and could be featured in the narrative at a later stage.
Usami
A Minor JJK Character Who Will Play a Huge Role in Modulo

In the world of JJK, Usami remains an enigmatic figure, shrouded in mystery. Little information about him is available, with only scattered details surfacing occasionally. For instance, it’s common knowledge that he is a grade 1 sorcerer and has a complicated history with Gojo Satoru, who harbors strong feelings of dislike towards him. What sets Usami apart from other characters in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, which takes place 68 years after the Shinjuku Showdown battle, is that he continues to live-a fact that only adds to the intrigue surrounding this elusive character.
It’s intriguing because Usami, being an adult, should no longer be alive. However, it seems like Gojo could be setting up a significant part for him in the future.
Panda
He Was Seen as a Doll in The JJK One Shot

In a slightly different tone:
Panda, while not a main character in JJK, has managed to win over many fans’ hearts. Unlike an ordinary creature, Panda is actually a cursed being created by Masamichi Yaga. Since he isn’t subject to traditional aging, Panda has made appearances with the JJK Modulo protagonists Yuka and Tsurugi in the one-shot comic that was released some time ago. Although Panda has been out of action for quite a while now and appears much smaller, almost doll-like, there’s a strong possibility that he might reappear in JJK Modulo.
Megumi
Megumi Would be Old, But Is Probably Alive
In the initial JJK series, Megumi was among the primary characters. As the story of JJK concluded, Megumi was 16 years old. So, in the subsequent series JJK Modulo, we would expect him to be 84 years old. Despite being rather advanced in age, there remains a strong possibility that he could reappear in some way. Given the excitement surrounding the reunification of old protagonists guiding the new generation, it certainly seems fitting!
Nobara
Nobara Could Still be Alive At 84

In the grand tale of JJK, I found myself closely following the journey of a character often overlooked – Nobara. Much like Megumi, she was 16 at the end of the series, which places her at 84 years old, six and eight decades later respectively. The story has left an open door for her return, stirring anticipation among fans who are eager to delve into what her life became post-Shinjuku Showdown arc, particularly after she reconciled with her family.
Yuji
Yuji is a Special Human Who Might Age Slower

Among the JJK characters, it’s highly likely that Yuji will reappear in the sequel, JJK Modulo, due to some compelling reasons. Unlike a typical human, Yuji isn’t ordinary. For a significant part of the series, he served as Sukuna’s vessel, and beyond that, he was born by Kenjaku, which sets him apart. This unique background could potentially support an argument that he ages more slowly than a regular human. In the new storyline, Yuji could serve as a powerful mentor to the upcoming protagonists, helping them navigate the existential crisis brought about by the alien threat.
Sukuna
Could Have Reincarnated

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Sukuna served as the primary adversary. However, if he were to reappear in the series Modulo, it’s suggested that he wouldn’t return as a villain but rather an ally working for humanity’s benefit. In his final moments, Sukuna expressed a desire to change his ways if granted another opportunity. Given the existence of reincarnation within Jujutsu Kaisen, there’s a strong possibility this wish could come true. This resurrection could provide a satisfying conclusion to Sukuna’s character arc, as envisioned by author Gege.
Gojo
Could Have Reincarnated
Similar to Sukuna, Gojo may find a way to return to Jujutsu Kaisen through the concept of renewal or rebirth. This idea is well-established within the world of JJK, and if Gojo were to come back after his tragic demise in the Shinjuku Showdown, it would be a groundbreaking event for all fans. Even without his Six Eyes or Limitless abilities, Gojo could still prove to be an invaluable asset to the Jujutsu Kaisen world.
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga concluded at the end of 2024, yet it can be read online for free. You can find and read this series on Manga Plus, where it was previously published weekly. For those eager to explore the new JJK sequel titled Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, you’ll also find it on Manga Plus, as new episodes will be released weekly. Chapter 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is set to debut on September 14, 2025.
