Jujutsu Kaisen: Adult Megumi’s Full Strength, Explained

This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen‘s final arc.

Summary

  • Megumi never mastered the power of Mahoraga, hindering his full potential.
  • Adult Megumi could master Mahoraga, becoming one of the strongest in JJK.
  • Megumi’s complete domain expansion with Chimaera Shadow Garden would make him unstoppable.

In a wrap-up that left fans elated, Jujutsu Kaisen concluded its extraordinary journey not too long ago. It was heartening to witness the beloved characters receive fitting conclusions. Interestingly, even the main trio experienced satisfying endings. Regrettably, some aspects of their storytelling could have been better. The climax of Jujutsu Kaisen featured an epic showdown between Yuji and Sukuna that left fans in awe. Unfortunately, Megumi and Nobara’s roles were minimal in this part, leaving many disappointed by the unrealized potential of their characters.

To put it simply, these characters have now embraced their roles as active sorcerers, leaving ample opportunity for significant development that fans are eagerly anticipating. As for Megumi Fushiguro, his untapped potential is downright terrifying, and everyone’s on the edge of their seats, excited to witness the mighty sorcerer he’ll become in the future and gauge the extent of his power.

The Power Of A Tamed Mahoraga

  • Megumi Never Mastered The Power Of Mahoraga
  • Adult Megumi Would’ve Mastered This Ability

From an external perspective, it was prophesied that Megumi Fushiguro would rise to be among the most formidable sorcerers, a fact made clear to fans at the onset of the series. As stated by Satoru Gojo himself, Megumi possessed the potential to reach his level, largely due to his control over the Ten Shadows Technique. Centuries ago, a chief of the Gojo Clan with the Six Eyes and the Limitless ability, and a Zenin Clan leader wielding the Ten Shadows Technique, engaged in a fierce battle that ended in their demise, demonstrating the striking similarity between their powers. If Megumi were to fully master his cursed technique’s potential, it was evident that he would ascend to comparable heights in the future, as portrayed vividly in the early stages of the narrative.

Over the course of the storyline, viewers witnessed Megumi’s mastery over the Ten Shadows Technique improving. He demonstrated remarkable growth during the Culling Game storyline, yet regrettably, Megumi was far from realizing his full potential. Since he could summon up to ten shikigami, fans were left wanting more as they never got to see him wield Mahoraga’s divine strength, the strongest among them all. During the Shibuya Incident arc, Megumi utilized Mahoraga, but ultimately failed to manage its power effectively. It was Sukuna who eventually subdued the beast.

When Sukuna fought Gojo inside Megumi’s body, Mahoraga played a crucial role in Sukuna’s victory. If not for Mahoraga, Sukuna might have lost. With the ability to adapt and tame this power, Megumi could become one of the strongest characters in JJK. His strength would be unparalleled, forcing his enemies to think carefully before attacking. Additionally, he would wield the Sword of Extermination, a weapon filled with positive energy that’s harmful to cursed spirits. In essence, Megumi, given these abilities, would truly become a formidable combatant.

The Power Of A Complete Domain Expansion

Megumi’s Chimaera Shadow Garden Would Be The Gateway To Hell For Anyone

In the anime “JJK,” Megumi Fushiguro demonstrated his ability to expand his domain early on. Although fans observed him employing Chimera Shadow Garden against a finger bearer initially, his domain expansion was still in its developmental stage at that time. Risking his life to harness this immense power, what viewers witnessed within was nothing short of breathtaking. Megumi had the capacity to generate numerous shikigami from shadows and continuously attacked his adversary with one strike following another. If he manages to fully develop this domain, he would theoretically be able to house multiple fusion beasts, like Agito, within it. More crucially, he would have the ability to repeatedly use powers such as Mahoraga.

In the thrilling world of JJK, a single Mahoraga proves an insurmountable challenge for most characters I’m familiar with. Should multiple Mahoragas arise, the wise choice for any adversary facing Megumi would be to concede defeat, for they stand little chance against such formidable foes.

In addition, the area amplifies the strength of every attack launched by Megumi, along with the Shikigami themselves. A significantly enhanced (possibly up to 120%) Mahoraga would mean disaster for most of Megumi’s adversaries, which is exactly what makes this skill so unique and powerful.

It’s evident that when Megumi Fushiguro combines his ability to manipulate shadows to produce clones, along with his guaranteed strike capability that annihilates opponents, it becomes clear that he would be virtually indomitable as a sorcerer. His power level is such that he could stand toe-to-toe with formidable opponents like Yuji Itadori, Yuta Okkotsu, and essentially every powerful sorcerer in the JJK universe. In fact, his prowess places him among the top contenders for the title of the strongest modern sorcerer, a claim that is hard to dispute.

Additional Techniques That Make Megumi Invincible

Megumi Would Have More Than Just His Cursed Technique

Megumi Fushiguro, when he fully masters his Cursed Technique, will undoubtedly lean on it as a sorcerer. But that doesn’t exclude the possibility of him enhancing other skills. For example, Megumi has already mastered the Reverse Cursed Technique, which, when coupled with his Shikigami, provides additional healing abilities. He needs to learn techniques like Domain Amplification and others to further improve. A significant advantage for him is that Sukuna, who resides in his body, gives him muscle memory to switch between using the Cursed Technique and Domain Amplification seamlessly. Any skill Sukuna has used within Megumi’s body will benefit him and help him advance as a fighter to the next level.

Additionally, there’s a possibility that Megumi might also inherit the Shrine’s power. Since Sukuna dwells within Yuji, he was infused with cursed energy, which led to him gaining the Shrine’s power. If a similar situation arises for Megumi, it wouldn’t be surprising if Sukuna were to fully awaken his extraordinary technique in her body, potentially making her the strongest modern sorcerer, even surpassing Yuji. However, this is all speculation and will only be confirmed if the author continues to provide hints as the story progresses in JJK.

At long last, the final chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, numbered 271, became available for reading on September 29, 2024. Readers can immerse themselves in the series through the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump mobile applications.
