Jujutsu Kaisen: Adult Yuji Itadori’s Power Level, Explained

This article contains spoilers from the JJK Modulo series.

Chapter 20 of JJK Modulo is being hailed as a major highlight of the series so far, with fans thrilled by the latest developments from author Gege Akutami. The previous chapter featured the return of Yuji Itadori, who appears significantly more powerful than before. Using his enhanced abilities, including Piercing Blood, Yuji demonstrated his full potential after 69 years of growth.

Chapter 20 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga showed just how powerful Yuji truly is. He’s incredibly strong, exceeding all expectations, and many fans now believe he could be the strongest sorcerer ever – a claim that seems justified by his recent feats.

Yuji Itadori Gained Major Power Ups In Shinjuku Showdown

  • Yuji gained multiple powers in the Sukuna Raid
  • His innate technique finally awakened

Yuji Itadori’s significant growth in power truly began during the Shinjuku Showdown arc of Jujutsu Kaisen. This arc, which concluded the series, featured Yuji battling Ryomen Sukuna after the tragic loss of Gojo Satoru. During this fight, Yuji experienced a rapid increase in strength that some felt was almost too quick. Ultimately, however, he succeeded in defeating Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, providing a satisfying conclusion to the story. The power-ups Yuji received during the Shinjuku Showdown can be broken down into several distinct areas.

The Power Of Blood Manipulation

During the events leading up to and including Shinjuku Shodown, Yuji gained the ability to control blood, a power known as Blood Manipulation. He developed this ability by absorbing Death Paintings 4 through 9, bringing him closer in power to characters like his brother Choso and Eso from Kechizu. This was a significant development for Yuji, as he initially didn’t have a cursed technique when the story began, and Blood Manipulation gave him a powerful new ability.

Mastery Of Reverse Cursed Technique

Even though Yuji has the ability to control blood, he wasn’t yet skilled enough to fully use his powers on his own, so he needed Choso’s help with techniques like Piercing Blood. However, the most important reason Yuji needed Blood Manipulation was to make his Reverse Cursed Technique easier to use. Most sorcerers struggle with this technique, but Yuji found it much simpler thanks to his unique ability. This was a huge advantage in his fight against the King of Curses, and a key factor in how he managed to defeat Sukuna.

The Power Of Shrine

The most significant power boost Yuji gained during this story arc was the Shrine technique. Because Yuji served as a vessel for Ryomen Sukuna, Sukuna was constantly filling his body with cursed energy. Gojo Satoru previously explained, using his Six Eyes, that Yuji was practically becoming a cursed object due to this constant influx of energy. Gojo even predicted that Sukuna’s Cursed Technique would become a permanent part of Yuji’s body, and this came true during the battle in Shinjuku.

Yuji delivered a devastating Black Flash to the King of Curses, unexpectedly unlocking his hidden Cursed Technique, known as Shrine. While similar to Sukuna’s, Yuji’s version focused on precise, scissor-like cuts. He could also combine this with his unique ability to strike directly at souls. Yuji was able to inflict incredibly powerful damage with his Cursed Technique, ultimately developing it to the point of creating a Domain Expansion.

A Full-fledged Domain Expansion

The fight with Ryomen Sukuna concluded within Yuji Itadori’s domain expansion, but Yuji needed to train with Kusakabe beforehand to reach that point. During their training, Yuji mastered Simple Domain, a powerful ability he developed by integrating his technique into the domain he learned.

Yuji successfully created a domain expansion, but it was very different from Sukuna’s. Sukuna’s domain was a gruesome shrine surrounded by blood and corpses, while Yuji’s domain reflected places from his past. He was able to bring Sukuna to locations he knew from his childhood, creating a surprisingly strong and evocative environment.

Yuji dealt a devastating blow to Sukuna with his Soul Dismantle technique, significantly weakening him. This surge of power made Yuji a formidable fighter, but it was clear he was still growing and unlocking his full potential.

Adult Yuji Itadori’s Full Power Is Beyond Gojo And Sukuna

  • Yuji Itadori has mastered Blood Manipulation
  • His Shrine is stronger than Sukuna’s

After 69 years, the series Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo finally showed fans what Yuji Itadori is capable of as an adult. He’s incredibly powerful right now—far stronger than he was during the Shinjuku incident. This adult version of Yuji is on par with powerhouses like Gojo and Sukuna, and some fans even believe he’s surpassed them, based on what happened in chapter 20 of JJK Modulo.

In the sequel manga, Yuji made a powerful entrance in chapter 19, demonstrating a new level of Blood Manipulation using a technique called Convergence, followed by Piercing Blood. He unleashed a massive barrage of powerful attacks, instantly overwhelming dozens of humans and Simurians. Yuji completely destroyed an entire building full of sorcerers in a matter of seconds.

On top of everything else, Yuji demonstrated the full extent of his Shrine Cursed Technique during the battle in Shinjuku. His technique has significantly improved, and he was able to unleash two incredibly large Dismantles. In fact, Yuji’s Shrine now appears to be even more powerful than Sukuna’s, as the force of his Dismantles rivaled both Sukuna’s Divine Flame and Gojo’s Hollow Purple.

Yuji Has Also Mastered The Black Flash

Plus, Yuji now appears able to consistently land the Black Flash. Historically, no jujutsu sorcerer has ever been able to control this technique, but Yuji has used it more than anyone else during his fight with Sukuna. It seemed like he was doing it on purpose, and while it was likely due to his intense concentration, he’s clearly developed a remarkable level of control.

Yuji has quickly become incredibly powerful, even managing to perform a Black Flash – a rare and difficult technique – against a Simurian shortly after his introduction. This demonstrates he’s truly mastered the Black Flash, and combined with his other abilities, puts him at a level surpassing even Gojo and Sukuna, making him the strongest sorcerer ever seen in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe. He’s now virtually unstoppable and poses an immense threat.
